Go Bowling at the Glen Odds, Tips and Predictions for NASCAR at Watkins Glen

If we needed yet another reminder of how bonkers this NASCAR season has been, we got it last Sunday when the first back-to-back winner of 2022 was a guy who prior to the previous weekend hadn’t won in almost two years.
Kevin Harvick was +2500 to win at Michigan and had NASCAR odds of +1500 to win at Richmond, and now the same driver who recently ended a 65-race winless skid is tied for second in the series in victories.
It’s that kind of year. Harvick is again a +2500 choice to win at top sportsbooks on Sunday on the road course at Watkins Glen International, where his only career victory came in 2006.

And here’s another confounding prospect for NASCAR betting fans: Chase Elliott is once again the odds favorite on a road course, although the Hendrick Motorsports standard-bearer hasn’t won on a road layout in over a year.
Indeed, it’s No. 2 odds choice Tyler Reddick who’s claimed the last two road races, although Elliott was in the mix at the end both times. Still, the pool of potential winners on road courses is far deeper than it once was, evidenced by the fact that road courses have produced three first-time winners this season alone.
Add in the demolition derby nature of some recent NASCAR road races (looking at you, Indianapolis), and bettors face a vexing situation on Sunday afternoon.

Go Bowling At The Glen Betting Tips
OK, so remember those repeated first-turn melees that turned the end of the Indy road course race into such a mess? There’s absolutely the potential for more of that at Watkins Glen, where a very fast front straight feeds into a hard right-hander.
So even the best-researched wager is capable of going up in smoke when somebody makes a reckless move to force it four-wide through a narrow 90-degree first turn.
All that aside, Elliott’s position as odds favorite is backed up by an outstanding recent record at the Glen that includes three straight finishes of second or better, and a series-best average finish of 6.0.
Elliott’s two wins at Watkins are tied for most among active drivers with Kyle Busch, who’s been top-10 in five of his last six there, but hasn’t won in Upstate New York since 2013. Reddick has one previous start at WGI with a finish of 10th, but of course his road results elsewhere this season label him a serious contender.
NASCAR drivers who come from road-racing backgrounds have often enjoyed great success at the Glen, where winners include Tim Richmond, Robby Gordon, Marcos Ambrose, Juan Pablo Montoya and A.J. Allmendinger. With top-10s this season at both Indy and Road America, ’Dinger will vie for another on a track where he won in 2014.
Sonoma winner Daniel Suarez has finished third and fourth at the Glen, while Michael McDowell has been top-10 in each of his last three road course starts.
Go Bowling At The Glen Predictions
Tyler Reddick to Win
Odds: +600 at DraftKings ➜
Not exactly adventurous, we know, but the sensible choice given some of the mayhem we’ve seen unfold on road courses of late. Drivers that find “it” on road courses tend to be able to replicate that success, as we’ve seen in the past with the likes of Elliott and Jeff Gordon.
Reddick’s team is riding that setup wave right now, and bettors will need a driver who can get out front and avoid all the calamity behind them.

Chase Elliott Top 3
Odds: +140 at DraftKings ➜
Again, boring, but again, the kind of wager it takes to avoid road-course ridiculousness. Elliott hasn’t won on a road course in over a year, but he was second to Reddick at Road America, top-10 at both Sonoma and COTA, and he was battling Reddick for the lead at Indy before an ill-advised move by Joey Logano on a late restart took him out.
Elliott and Reddick have been the class of road-course races in NASCAR this season, so it makes sense to find some way to incorporate both on betting apps this weekend.

Kevin Harvick Top Ford
Odds: +800 at DraftKings ➜
Goodness, why not? Even before he ended his winless streak, we were repeatedly praising Harvick as among the best in a shallow Ford stable, and he’s backed up that faith with 11 top-10 runs in his last 15 starts. That run includes a fourth-place effort at Sonoma, and Harvick has also been top-10 at Watkins Glen in each of the past three years.
