Corbin Burnes 2025 Team Odds: Cy Young Winner In Demand
Promo Code: BOOKIESBG150
Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes will be the most-coveted pitcher in MLB free-agency market this offseason. Burnes came to the Baltimore Orioles from Milwaukee for past season in a trade. He went 15-9 for the O’s while posting a 2.92 ERA in 32 games and striking out 181 batters.
As important for potential suitors is that Burnes logged 194.1 innings in 2024
Baltimore reached the postseason as an AL Wild Card before getting brushed aside 2-0 by the Royals. Burns took the loss in Game 1 despite going 8 innings while giving up just 1 run.
Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has updated his odds for what MLB team will land Burnes in free agency this offseason.

Corbin Burnes 2025 Next Team Odds: Breakdown
NY Yankees +350
The Yankees lost out on Juan Soto, which makes for even more funding to spend on an upgrade. Adding the top starter on the market helps. Partnering Burnes with Gerrit Cole greatly strengthens the top of the order.
Boston Red Sox +400
The Red Sox rotation was shattered last season before the first game of spring training. Chris Sale was shipped to the Braves. Free-agent pick-up Lucas Giolito was lost for 2024 with an elbow injury. A fully-healthy Giolito is expected back for 2025. Burnes would give the Red Sox a solid 1-2 punch atop the rotation. And Boston has plenty of cash to “Burnes.” If John Henry wants to spend it.
Toronto Blue Jays +500
The Blue Jays need to extend Vladimir Guerrero Jr., but they also need reason for Vlady to do so by building a contender. Starting pitching was unreliable last year due to production and injury; Burnes' past (32-plus starts the last three seasons) suggests he'd add much-needed stability.
San Francisco Giants +650
The Giants just lost Blake Snell to the rival Dodgers, leaving a gaping hole atop their rotation. San Fran needs to make a splash, as does new GM Buster Posey.
NY Mets +750
The Mets are in the hunt for every free agent of note. Burnes would have been a welcomed addition to the Mets this postseason. The Amazin’s rotation ran out of gas in the NLCS, giving up 8, 10, 6, and 10 runs to the World Champs in the final 4 games of that series.
Baltimore Orioles +1000
The Orioles were unable to keep Burnes in the fold when he was under their control. They can’t compete financially with some of their AL East competitors (at least if the Red Sox want to spend money), never mind the Mets or Cubs. Burnes will have to take a “hometown” discount if he wants to stay in Baltimore.
Chicago Cubs +1200
Like the Red Sox, Cubs ownership has deep pockets. But will ownership dip into them? The Northsiders missed the postseason in 2024, going 83-79. Both pitchers atop the Cubs rotation (Shota Imangna and Jameson Taillon) are over 30. Neither surpassed Burnes in innings pitched or strikeouts last season. The Cubs are said to have a certain type of pitcher in mind – the type that doesn’t command top dollar. That won’t work here.
The Field +1400
Teams like the Padres, Astros and Braves could slip into these sorts of discussions.
