The PGA Tour returns to Minneapolis this week for the second installment of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities. Golf betting remains in full swing with the PGA Championship just two weeks away, and even though most of the big names are sitting this one out ahead of next week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis, there’s still some star power atop the betting board.
Dustin Johnson is the favorite at +1200, which is pretty remarkable considering he posted back-to-back 80s while missing the cut at the Memorial last weekend. Tony Finau is coming off a solo eighth at Muirfield Village and has the second-best odds alongside Brooks Koepka at +1400. Tommy Fleetwood is next at +1700 and Paul Casey sits at +1800.

Harris English Round 1 Leader (+5000)
We’ll take a stab at a +5000 longshot out of the gate. Really like English this week but didn’t find any matchup bets that we wanted to pounce on. Instead, we’ll get a little action on the Round 1 leader prop. English is fourth on Tour in Round 1 scoring average (68.5), trailing only Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Bryson DeChambeau.
Harris has five opening rounds of 66 or less this season and is playing good golf with a T-13 last week and T-17 at the RBC Heritage. Definitely worth a small touch with those odds at DraftKings.

Sam Burns (-125) over Carlos Ortiz
Burns checks all the boxes here. He finished T-7 last year at the inaugural 3M Open. He’s gone T-24, T-30 and T-17 in his last three starts. And he’s 28th in Strokes Gained Off The Tee and 29th in Strokes Gained Putting. We’re looking for another solid finish this week and maybe even a top-10 with a relatively weak field. But we’re not crazy about the +400 top-10 odds, so we’ll roll with a matchup bet instead at Unibet.

Lucas Glover (+105) over Paul Casey
Casey is getting a ton of respect from the oddsmakers this week despite a second-round 77 to miss the cut at the Memorial. He was playing steady, top-40 golf before the Tour went on hiatus but hasn’t finished top-10 in a full-field event in more than a year. Glover is in midseason form. He shot a combined 39-under-par and finished T-21 or better in three consecutive starts prior to a T-38 at the Memorial last week. We’ll back Glover here, especially with underdog odds, at PointsBet.

Matthew Wolff (-110) over Bubba Watson
Wolff melted Bryson DeChambeau’s face off with a 26-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole to win the 2019 3M Open. The defending champ finished T-22 last week in crazy-tough conditions at Muirfield Village. TPC Twin Cities is a much better fit, and we especially like him against Watson.
The 41-year-old Watson has only broken 70 once in the last eight rounds and missed three consecutive cuts ahead of a T-32 at the Memorial. Surprised we can get -110 odds on this one at FOXBet, but we’re not complaining.

Dustin Johnson (-122) over Brooks Koepka
Johnson shot 80-80 to miss the Memorial cut in spectacular fashion. He also has the shortest memory in golf (and maybe all of professional sports). Johnson looked great with a win at the Travelers, and we’re not worried about a Memorial hangover.
Koepka did see the weekend at Muirfield Village with a T-62 finish. He also had some concerning comments about the left knee injury that forced him out of action in late 2019. Last week he said it’s “nowhere near 100%” and that an MRI showed no improvement from the fall. It doesn’t sound like anything that’s going to force him out of action, but it’s clearly impacting his game. So grab these odds at BetMGM.
