The UFC returns to Brazil this Saturday for UFC 283. The card features two title fights, with the vacant light heavyweight title being fought for between Jamahal Hill and Glover Teixeira in the main event. 

In the co-main event, UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo takes on Brandon Moreno in a quadrilogy match. We’ll give our best UFC picks for both of those fights, plus one more in the latest edition of our Bookies Best Bets.

UFC 283 Main Event Best Bet

Jamahal Hill (-125) vs. Glover Teixeira (+105)

The main event of UFC 283 sees Jamahal Hill take on Glover Teixeira for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. Hill is a -125 UFC betting favorite to win, and I see him getting his hand raised.

Hill joined the UFC in 2020 and since then he has a 5-1, 1 NC record in the Octagon with four of those wins coming by way of knockout. The 31-year-old American has shown incredible knockout power throughout his UFC career and he has won his last three fights in a row by stoppage heading into this contest. 

Overall he has proven that he is one of the best light heavyweights in the world and if he can beat Teixeira, he will take home the vacant title.

Teixeira, meanwhile, has been in the UFC for over a decade, having first joined the promotion in 2012. The 43-year-old Brazilian has an excellent record of 16-6, including 13 of those wins coming by stoppage. Teixeira is one of the greatest submission artists we have ever seen at 205lbs, and he also has excellent boxing.

That being said, he is one of the oldest fighters on the roster and he has been knocked out numerous times. Teixeira is a great fighter, but father time is an opponent who is difficult to defeat, especially taking on a dangerous foe such as Hill.

This should be a great fight for as long as it lasts, but I have to go with Hill to get the win. He’s the younger, fresher fighter, and I see him knocking Teixeira out to win the title. Give me Hill as a -125 favorite and for a prop you can take him to win the fight by knockout.

Deiveson Figueiredo (-110) vs. Brandon Moreno (-110)

The co-main event of UFC 283 sees UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo face Brandon Moreno for the fourth time. Figueiredo is available at -110 odds on betting apps, and I like him to win this fight. 

The first fight between these two resulted in a draw, while the second saw Moreno winning by submission and the third saw Figueiredo winning by decision. All three of those fights were a lot of fun to watch and I expect the fourth fight between these two to also be very exciting.

Figueiredo has been in the UFC since 2017 and he has a 10-2-1 record in the promotion, which is excellent. The 35-year-old Brazilian is dangerous everywhere as he has both knockout power on the feet and dangerous submissions on the ground. 

He’s shown throughout his UFC career that he is one of the best flyweights in the world and he proved against Moreno in his last fight that he still has what it takes to be a champion. Now, he’ll look to defend his belt once again.

Moreno has been in the UFC since 2016 and he has an 8-3-2 record in the Octagon. The 29-year-old Mexican has shown incredible toughness throughout his UFC run and he’s fought and defeated many of the best fighters in the flyweight division. 

In his last fight, he won the interim belt when he finished Kai Kara-France. There is a lot to like about Moreno, however, he did just lose to Figueiredo last year, so if anyone knows how to beat him, it’s his Brazilian rival.

The fourth fight between Figueiredo and Moreno should be as entertaining as the first three were. I’m expecting another competitive fight, but I see Figueiredo retaining his belt with a decision win. Give me Figueiredo at -110 odds and for a prop, take him by decision.

Gregory Rodrigues (-330) vs. Bruno Ferreira (+275)

Also on the card is a middleweight bout between Gregory Rodrigues and Bruno Ferreira. Rodrigues is a -330 favorite and I believe he will win this fight in impressive fashion.

Rodrigues joined the UFC in 2021 and so far he has a 4-1 record in the Octagon with three of those wins coming by way of knockouts. In his last two fights, he picked up brutal knockout wins over Chidi Njokuani and Julian Marquez. 

The 30-year-old Brazilian has shown tremendous knockout power in his hands during his UFC run, and he also has a very good ground game. Overall, he’s an excellent middleweight and someone who is quickly moving up the rankings.

As for Ferreira, this will be his UFC debut. He won a UFC contract after picking up a knockout win on the Contender Series last fall and he should be a nice addition to the promotion’s roster. During his MMA career, the 30-year-old Brazilian has shown a lot of knockout power. 

However, he hasn’t really fought anyone of note and that lack of experience could play a role here. Moreover, he took this fight on short notice and didn’t have a full training camp to prepare.

I see these two middleweights slugging it out, but Rodrigues’ superior technique and his experience inside the Octagon will lead him to victory. Look for Rodrigues to land a big punch and knock Ferreira out early in the fight. Give me Rodrigues at -330 and by TKO for a prop.
