Early Saturday morning, the UFC hosts its final event of the year in Busan, South Korea. And that card may offer a Fight of the Year contender. Originally slated to be a title eliminator between Chan Sung Jung- known more commonly as The Korean Zombie - and Brian Ortega, a last-minute injury forced Ortega out of the bout. Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar answered the call, stepping in for one final fight at 145 pounds before dropping down to the bantamweight division.

Let’s get one last bet in on the UFC fight of 2019.

Korean Zombie vs Frankie Edgar Odds & Prediction

The Korean Zombie is one of the premier action-fighters in the history of MMA. On his feet, Zombie is a powerful striker who works at a high rate, and has sneaky KO power. He’s an equally dangerous grappler and responsible for the first ever Twister submission in UFC history.

But the most impressive thing about Zombie is the changes he’s made in the last few years. Chan Sung Jung made his name as an aggressive action fighter but since his return from military service, Zombie has turned into a precise counter-fighter, less willing to engage in brawls. He's become more dangerous as a result.

Frankie Edgar’s game is built around pressure, pace, and outstanding cardio. He has decent fundamental boxing that uses in-and-out movement and combinations to score on opponents. He’s not a huge KO threat but he’s not without power in his punches. However, Edgar's biggest edges comes in is his wrestling game.

Where Edgar has always excelled, and the skill that took him to the lightweight title, was his ability to blend wrestling and striking. He keeps opponents guessing and attacks where they aren’t expecting. The main concern for Edgar is, that at age 38, his durability is slowly becoming a question mark.

Korean Zombie vs Edgar Prediction & Best Bet

FanDuel currently has Chan Sung Jung as a -182 favorite with Frankie Edgar coming in as a +148 underdog, which is a bit surprising.

Edgar has only ever lost to the very best of the best, and has beaten many of the best himself. At featherweight in particular, Edgar has been a wrecking machine. Korean Zombie is an excellent fighter, but he’s in a tier that’s slightly below the elite of the sport.

Zombie’s new style makes this matchup more interesting, as his more-measured approach will give Edgar more problems than normal. Edgar’s game, however, has flummoxed almost everyone he’s faced and I expect the same to happen here. Zombie will have moments but Edgar will win more and thus love him for a bet at +148.
