Favourites for the group Germany will fancy their changes of progressing from a group that includes Ecuador, Côte d'Ivoire and World Cup debutants Curaçao. But what chances do World Cup betting sites give all four teams in the group of taking top spot or making the knockout rounds?
World Cup Group E
Whilst it is possible for three teams to progress from any group, those with tournament experience might be looking to put Curaçao to the sword to do their goal difference no harm should it come down to tiebreakers. But do football betting sites think it will be that simple?
Germany
There aren't many teams in the tournament shorter than Germany are to win their group at the World Cup. They should get out of this group and could spring a surprise in the knockouts.
Côte d'Ivoire
Côte d'Ivoire topped their CAF qualifying group unbeaten, but considering the highest-ranked team they faced currently occupies 87th place in the world, not much can be taken from that performance. However, they have beaten both South Korea and Scotland in friendlies in 2026, and were only knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations following a 3-2 defeat to Egypt. With three teams able to progress, they are a very short price to get out the group.
Curaçao
Very much the outsiders of the four, and very much the opposite to Germany, it would be a shock if Curaçao got out of the group. A lack of players playing in Europe's top leagues suggests they are short of experience at the highest level, and probably only managed to reach the expanded World Cup due to Canada, Mexico and the USA getting spots as hosts which opened up the qualifying route.
