There has been plenty of discussion surrounding the future of Conor Gallagher, with the Chelsea midfielder having been linked to a number of other Premier League clubs throughout a sumer of great upheaveal at the west London team. According to the latest transfer odds from the best football betting sites, it’s even possible that the England international might have a move to a German outfit ahead of the transfer window closing.

While Gallagher has started Chelsea’s first two matches of the Premier League season, the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia cast doubt on whether the 23-year-old has a long-term future at Stamdord Bridge. We look at the latest transfer odds regarding a player who has West Ham among his suitors.

Can West Ham Land Longtime Transfer Target?

It’s no secret that West Ham United have been pursuing Conor Gallagher this summer, although a deal is far from guaranteed as things stand. The first question is whether Chelsea actually have the appetite to sell. Having acquired Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, perhaps they are willing to listen to offers from other clubs.

There’s also the fact that Chelsea might need to balance the books, and that could see West Ham have an offer accepted for someone who has made seven senior appearances in an England shirt. Interestingly, Gallagher has only turned out for the Blues on 37 occasions since making his debut in 2019.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed loan spells with Charlton, Swansea, West Brom and Crystal Palace in the past. It now comes down to whether he has a long-term future at Chelsea. Should this not be the case, then West Ham could use some of the Declan Rice proceeds from Arsenal to bolster their midfield department, even if they have already signed two new central midfielders since.

Brighton Could Be in Market for New Central Midfielder

Brighton appear to be in good nick based on early evidence in the Premier League, with the Seagulls having coped pretty well with the departure of key players. Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo have both left the AMEX Stadium this summer, although perhaps Roberto de Zerbi has his eye on Gallagher.

It’s likely that the Chelsea midfielder could slot into this Brighton team, and the odds with most betting apps suggesting that the Seagulls are among the candidates to sign him. There would be no problem funding this kind of move considering Brighton have commanded some enormous transfer fees for several outgoing players in recent times.

Brighton might have signed James Milner this summer, but they’ll be keen to ensure that they have plenty of young players to help the team make inroads in Europe and domestically, with Gallagher talks potentially taking place after Caicedo went the other way this summer.

Could Borussia Dortmund Throw Hat Into Ring for Gallagher?

We’ve seen Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane make the switch from the English Premier League to Germany, with the former signing for Borussia Dortmund before more recently making the switch to Real Madrid. Kane has recently completed a big-money move to the Bundesliga to join Bayern Munich from Tottenham, and maybe Gallagher will be the next, according to the latest odds with UK betting sites.

It serves to highlight that there are German clubs who are able to compete to sign talented English players, and Borussia Dortmund were previously linked with a move with Gallagher. Back in April, media outlets were reporting that the club were keen on landing a player whose future seems perpetually uncertain at Chelsea.

While nothing has so far transpired on this front, the fact that 'any German club’s' odds have been shortening on the Conor Gallagher Next Club front suggests that a deal could yet be done.

Gallagher Could Also Be on Newcastle United’s Radar

Newcastle United are a hugely ambitious club who now look capable of challenging for major domestic honours. Eddie Howe’s side began the season with a 5-1 victory over a highly-rated Aston Villa side, but manager Eddie Howe might want to strengthen his squad with a proven midfielder like Conor Gallagher.

After all, the Magpies are competing in the Champions League this season, and that means they need a big squad full of quality players in order to go deep in this competition. Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes have already arrived at St James’ Park this summer, but there could be room for one more quality addition.
