*Odds up to date as of August 29, 2023. Settled on Orban's Club on September 1, 2023.

Gift Orban is a player with the world seemingly at his feet. The 21-year-old is currently on the books at Belgian Pro League club Gent, although it seems highly likely that the forward will be leaving for pastures new this summer, at least based on the transfer odds at UK betting sites. Since arriving at the club in January 2023, he has scored 17 goals in 18 appearances.

Orban has already achieved some incredible scoring feats, finding the net four times for Gent against Zulte Waregem in a domestic match, while he pilfered a lightning-quick hat-trick away to İstanbul Başakşehir in the UEFA Europa Conference League in the following game.

It’s little wonder that the leading clubs are keeping tabs on a player who looks set to join a Premier League outfit this season, with reports suggesting that Gent are looking for offers in the region of £40 million for this star player.

Tottenham Keen to Secure Orban’s Services

Orban could be the gift that keeps giving, and it’s no surprise that Tottenham are keen on spending some of the Harry Kane proceeds on this young forward. It is thought that Spurs are fairly near the front of the queue when it comes to snapping up a player who has already been breaking a number of scoring records during the early part of his career.

Ange Postecoglou would clearly like to have Orban in the squad and competing with the likes of Richarlison and Heung-Min Son for places in the line-up. It seems fairly clear that Orban is among the transfer targets at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and £40 million could be a value buy based on the player’s age.

Much depends on whether Daniel Levy is prepared to stump up a fairly large transfer fee for a player who is relatively unproven right now. Although there have been scoring heroics during Orban’s short career, he has mainly achieved this in the Belgian Pro League, and that’s a good deal different to cutting it in the English top flight.

West Ham Might Also Enter Running for Orban

Many would argue that West Ham would benefit from another strong attacking option, and perhaps this can be found in the form of Gift Orban. David Moyes recently argued that he might be able to convert Jarrod Bowen into a forward, while Michail Antonio showed plenty of prowess against Chelsea recently.

However, Orban is a meteoric talent who could light up the London Stadium and quickly become a fan favourite. Reports suggest that West Ham could lodge a rival bid for the player despite interest from Tottenham, with the former having received a sizeable amount of money from the sale of Declan Rice.

West Ham were short of goals last season and flirted with relegation before managing to pull away from the drop zone. They would be able to offer Orban the chance to play in the Europa League after winning the Europa Conference League last season, and it will be interesting to see if they enter the bidding.

Lille, Leipzig and Lens in Contention to Sign Orban

Plenty of sides around Europe are in the mix to sign Orban. French sides Lille and Lens are prominent in the betting with Bet UK, while RB Leipzig are also rumoured to be chasing his signature.

Gift Orban is sure to be on the clubs' radar thanks to his impressive feats that have been achieved with Norwegian club Stabaek and then KAA Gent. Not only are his stats impressive, but his all-round play continues to catch the eye.

Given his relative youth, and the fact that he appears quite happy at Gent, it wouldn't be a shock if he were to stay put for at least another season. That being said, another prolific season could see the asking price go through the roof. If teams believe in him, now might be the time to take a chance on him.
