The expansion of the World Cup to 48 teams means that, on paper, some of the more traditionally big teams have easier rides to the round of 32 and knockouts than might have been the case previously. Egypt got their first-ever World Cup win when they beat New Zealand, and they know a draw against Iran could be enough to win the group outright. Iran are currently second in the group, and a victory against Egypt would also see them qualify, and according to betting apps they have a reasonable chance.
It looks like it could be one step too far for New Zealand to qualify, but after getting a point against Iran they have probably already exceeded expectations.
