When you sign for Barcelona for an initial fee of £88m, you would think Ousmane Dembele would be one of the leading lights at the club these days. But, he has had a nightmare time in Catalonia since his move from Borussia Dortmund, as injuries and inconsistent performances have blotted his copy book.

That has led the best betting apps to price up a move away from the Nou Camp for the French international. Dembele has only appeared 11 times in a Barca shirt this season, as he has struggled to pry his way into the starting XI under new head coach Xavi.

Things have also turned nasty between Dembele and Barcelona recently as the forward accused the club of “blackmail” during new contract negotiations as he seemingly attempts to force a transfer during the current January window.

He may not have had the most productive output in the last few years, but there will still be loads of suitors for the 24-year-old if he was on the market in the remaining weeks of this window.

Let’s have a look at some of the favourites in the betting to snap him up before this transfer period shuts up shop on Monday January 31.

Newcastle Lead The Way To Sign Dembele

With Dembele seemingly open to offers, it should come as no surprise that Newcastle are the favourites at 4/1 on football betting sites to splash the cash on him. After all, the Frenchman would represent exactly the type of marquee signing the new owners of The Magpies - and the fans - desperately crave.

Newcastle have already spent close to £40m in this window on Chris Wood and Kieran Trippier, both serviceable Premier League talents, but a move for Dembele would be far more likely to get supporters off their seats with excitement.

With Allan Saint-Maximin bombing down the left wing, Eddie Howe appears to be on the hunt to sign someone who could be equally dangerous down the right.

There has been links with a move to steal Adama Traore from Wolves recently, but you’d suspect that given the choice Newcastle fans would rather have Dembele in their line-up.

Chelsea Could Chase Ousmane Dembele’s Signature

Next on the hitlist are Chelsea, and despite having the squad depth an NFL squad would be proud of, The Blues appear to be keen to bring in another top talent to the club.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have been in dreadful form of late, slipping miles behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League. So, maybe the German feels a new signing could be just the spark his underperforming squad needs.

Dembele plays with Chelsea’s N'Golo Kanté in the France National team and the pair becoming teammates at club level is priced at just 6/1 on BetVictor.

For all the skill that Chelsea possess, pace in attack is probably the one thing holding them back from truly challenging Man City and Liverpool domestically. Dembele is quicker than a hiccup, so it’s no wonder he is being linked with moving on to the Londoners.

With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah currently tied up on African Cup of Nations duty, Liverpool could well be eyeing up the Barcelona man to lighten the attacking load on Diogo Jota’s back over the next few weeks.

Dembele has apparently been a target of the Anfield club for a while now, and local media seem to feel The Reds are monitoring the contract dispute he is currently embroiled in with Barcelona.

Thankfully for Dembele, he appears to be a versatile operator as he would be extremely unlikely to shift Salah from his spot on the right-hand side of Liverpool’s attack. But, Jota, Mane and Roberto Firmino would certainly be sitting uncomfortably in their seats if Dembele were to land on Merseyside.

UK bookies have the transfer rated as an 8/1 shot, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
