Liverpool and Arsenal were the top two in the Premier League for most of last season, but outside of the Reds, who were crowned champions, and the Gunners, who took second, the top-four race was wide open for the majority of the season. With a number of contenders circling this season, the race for the top four is very much on in 2025/26.

It wasn't long ago that a whole host of teams were scrambling for a Premier League top-four finish and with Arsenal and Man City both home and hosed, there's only three teams in with a realistic shot: Man United, Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Premier League Top Four Odds 2025/26

Everyone knows the importance of finishing in the top four in the Premier League. It gets you into next season's Champions League and can result in a huge financial windfall. Though for the second season running, the Premier League's top five will make it into the tournament next campaign. For teams, like Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City, finishing in the top four is the minimum that is expected.

With so few games left, it appears that Man United, Aston Villa and Liverpool will be fighting it out for a top-four spot. United strengthened their position with a win over Brentford to move three points clear of their rivals with four games to go. They will all want to finish as high as possible, of course, but the good news for them is that fifth will also guarantee a Champions League spot so it's far from the end of the world for the team that ends up there.

A whole host of teams are still in the chasing pack including Brighton, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Brentford, Fulham and Everton, with all those teams split by just three points, but even the Seagulls in sixth are still eight points behind Villa in fifth.

It wasn't that long ago that Chelsea were also firmly in the running, even sitting above Liverpool, after beating Aston Villa on 3 March, but the Blues have since lost five in a row and tumbled down the table.

Given the inconsistency of seemingly every team challenging for a top-four spot, there will no doubt be lots more twists and turns to come in the final few weeks of the season, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a midtable team make a late surge either.

Man City & Arsenal to Finish In The Top Four

Liverpool were favourites to win the league this season, but things have not gone right for the Reds and they are fighting to make the top four. Some betting apps have stopped taking bets on Arsenal and Man City to claim a top-four spot, leaving just three teams with a realistic chance.

Man Utd Hoping To Finish Strong

Newcastle & Chelsea Out of Champions League Race

Two teams who didn't want to drop out of the Champions League spots are world champions Chelsea and a Newcastle side who won't want their project to go backwards. Aston Villa The Surprise Package
