CFB DFS Week 1 Quarterbacks for FanDuel & DraftKings

Dillon Gabriel - Oklahoma - FD $12,000 DK $9,200

Gabriel used the transfer portal to his advantage and ended up at Oklahoma as the new shiny QB. The hopes are high after Gabriel dominated at UCF, and it’ll come down to him playing at the same level against better competition. That high level of competition will come in the future, though, with Oklahoma facing off against UTEP in week 1.

That means Gabriel will have the best weapons he’s ever had at his disposal against a defense that’s likely to give up 40+ to the Sooners. In cash games, the versatility of Gabriel in a surefire offense is hard to ignore. You also have a bonafide WR1 to pair him with, who we will touch on later.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson - UCLA - DK $9,000

After struggling for his first few seasons at the helm, Dorian Thompson-Robinson showed flashes of why he was a top-3 QB coming out of high school. He’s one of the better dual-threat QBs in the country and went in the first ten picks of season-long CFB fantasy for a reason.

UCLA will put up points at will against Bowling Green and DTR is my overall QB1 on the slate. He is a bit more volatile than Gabriel, but the upside is huge and I think it’s more likely than not he hits in a game like this. Feel free to run DTR naked or with WR1 Kam Brown.

Frank Harris - UTSA - FD $9,000 DK $7,300

If you’re looking to save some funds at QB, UTSA is expected to keep the game close with Houston and Frank Harris will have to do a ton to make that happen. Much like DTR and Gabriel, Harris is a versatile signal caller and he has the ability to put up huge fantasy numbers if a game stays competitive.

The price is fair on Harris and he has one of the best weapons on the slate in Zakhari Franklin on the outside. In tournaments, it’s a great pairing that allows you to pay up elsewhere, opposed to the Gabriel/Mims combo which severely restricts your build.

FD Only - Malik Cunningham, Anthony Richardson

Also Consider - Taulia Tagovailoa, Jaxson Dart, Clayton Tune

CFB DFS Week 1 Running Backs for FanDuel & DraftKings

Blake Corum - Michigan - FD $9,500 DK $7,300

If you haven’t watched Blake Corum run the football, do yourself a favor and throw on some highlights. Corum has true NFL potential and I fully expect a big season from the Michigan halfback. Michigan has the highest over/under on the slate and Colorado State was horrid against the run in 2021.

At the very least, I expect Corum to surpass 100 yards and two scores. The upside for double is there and the price is way too low on both sites. Corum is my RB1 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. I will have close to 100%.

Zach Evans - Ole Miss - DK $7,800

The Ole Miss game isn’t on the main slate on FanDuel, but Zach Evans is my favorite cash game running back on DraftKings at $7,800. Ole Miss should hold an easy lead throughout this game and we know they’ll run the ball 25+ times if that’s the case.

The Troy rushing defense ranked 211th last season and are looking at four new starters, two of which are on the defensive line. Evans is a solid choice in both cash games and tournaments on DK.

Omarion Hampton - UNC - FD $8,700 DK $3,000

D.J. Jones is listed at RB1 if you look at the North Carolina depth chart. With that being said, Omarion Hampton ran the ball 14 times in week 0 and I don’t expect him to go away at all. If anything, Hampton has the ability to be a 3-year starter before hitting the draft. On FanDuel, the price is exactly where it should be. I will go elsewhere.

On DraftKings, Hampton is a measly $3k. He opens up your entire roster and likely won’t be over-owned as this is only week 1. The info is limited and people won't realize the opportunity here. Don’t overthink this easy play. On DraftKings, lock Hampton into 100% of your lineups and get different elsewhere.

FD Only - Sean Tucker, Jordan Houston

Also Consider - Zach Charbonnet, Pat Garwo III, D.J. Jones

CFB DFS Week 1 Wide Receivers for FanDuel & DraftKings

Brock Bowers - Georgia - FD $8,300 DK $8,300

In College Football, the TE position is often an afterthought. This season, Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer are going to change that a little bit. Bowers is one of the best pass catchers in the country and you can expect him to go in the first round of the NFL draft if this year goes to plan.

We know Stetson Bennett loves to rely on Bowers and this game is going to be a close one for four quarters. Bowers is a stone-cold lock in a week that has a ton of questions. In cash, a pairing with Bennett is extremely safe, though I won’t pull that trigger.

Marvin Mims - Oklahoma - FD $7,400 DK $7,700

We open up at WR with Marvin Mims, who is one of the best wide receivers in the league and currently projected to be the third WR drafted in the upcoming NFL draft. Incoming transfer Dillon Gabriel will likely lean on Mims heavily, as he’s shown propensity to do a ton at UCF. I expect Mims to see 12+ targets in this game and I don’t see the downside of targeting Mims on DraftKings, where Omarian Hampton will give you the freedom to do a lot.

Zay Flowers - BC - FD $7,000 DK $6,300

Flowers has been the constant in a Boston College offense that has changed a bunch over the past three seasons. While he was up and down a season ago, a lot of his performances mirrored who was throwing him the ball. The BC Eagles have Phil Jurkovec returning healthy this season, who many believe is one of the best pure passers in the entire country.

While I don’t think the upside is there on this slate for Jukovec, I will get my exposure to the Boston College offense with Flowers. He’s a viable option in both cash games and tournaments.

FD Only - Marvin Harrison Jr., Jermaine Burton

Also Consider - Zakhari Franklin, Ronnie Bell, Jacob Cowing
