There are College Football Rivalries. Then there is “Michigan vs. Ohio State.” The annual war between these states highlights our Week 14 College Football Best Bets.

This matchup breeds hype. This year’s version carries as much significance as any other Big Ten game this season.

Unbeaten Ohio State (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) takes the field Saturday at noon in Ann Arbor needed to win this game to secure a spot in the Big Ten title game (barring an unforeseen loss by Indiana to Purdue). Regardless, the Bucks (9-1-1 ATS) are assured a spot in the College Football Playoff. Last year, Ryan Day & Company lost 13-10 at home as 20-point favorites and saw Michigan’s flag planted on their home field.

The Bucks subsequently rank the table en route to a national championship win and cover against Notre Dame.

Michigan-Ohio State Betting Update, Line Movement

Neither team has been particularly tested this season. Ohio State owns just one win over a Top 25 team since it opened with a win at home against Texas. The Wolverines are winless in such games. The line on this game has more than doubled in Ohio State’s favor since it opened at Ohio- State -5.5 in May. It subsequently spiked starting in September, moving all the way up to 13.5 points last week. It quickly settled back to 11.5 points last week after a surge of sharp money backed the Wolverines as lopsided underdogs. It continued to slip at some books, hitting -9.5 at ESPN BET as of Monday, while settling at 10.5 points elsewhere.

The public loves Ohio State in terms of the moneyline, despite the Buckeyes’ current losing streak against that “School From Up North.” More than 90% of the bets backed Ohio State entering this week, while the early handle favored Michigan to the tune about more than 60%.
