NFL Continues European Swing In London
The NFL continues its European swing Sunday morning. The Minnesota Vikings play the second game of their Ireland-UK back-to-back doubleheader this week against the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The Vikings and Steelers played in Dublin in Week 4.
Sunday Night Football makes a rare visit to Jacksonville. All eyes will be on the visiting team’s luxury box as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Jaguars. Taylor Swift would be the biggest thing to hit Jacksonville since the Waffel House drive-thru.
Just six games occupy the 1 p.m. spot on Sunday. CBS has a slim menu from which to choose for Jim Nantz and Tony Romo’s landing spot. Look for the network’s top duo to be on the call in Philly for the Eagles-Broncos game. Don't worry, Jim. The Masters is only six months awawy.

Buzz: The LA Rams and San Francisco 49ers stand poised to take the NFC West race down to Week 17. The winner here grabs the early edge. The 49ers remain dogged by critical injuries this season – DE Joey Bosa is lost for the year and QB Brock Purdy rode the bench in back-to-back wins in Weeks 2 and 3. Purdy was terrible in SF's loss to Jacksonville. The Rams bounced back from their kick-six loss to Philly by knocking the Colts from the ranks of the unbeaten. Sean McVay's team has its footing. That gives Brian Daboll a built-in excuse to keep his job for another season. Meanwhile, Saints QB Spencer Rattler fell to 0-10 as a starter in Sunday's 31-19 loss at Buffalo. New Orleans gets its first - and possibly only - win of the season here.

Buzz: The Eagles rampaged through September, toppling the Chiefs, Rams and 3-0 Bucs along the way. Philly faltered in the 2nd half Sunday, and were shut out once the Bucs shut down Saquon Barkley. It will be warm in Philly on Sunday. This week, the Eagles get another 2024 playoff entrant from last season, their fourth of the season. The Broncos head East off a Monday night game against Cincinnati at home in Week 4. Lots of intangibles in Philly's favor here.

Miami Dolphins at Carolina Panthers, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Five weeks into the NFL season and we’ve reached the “Why Are They Playing This Game?” stage. The Dolphins may swing by Chapel Hill after this one to pick up Bill Belichick. The putrid Panthers managed to make the Patriots look like Super Bowl contenders in a 42-13 loss. When in doubt, take the under.

Buzz:. Baltimore remains in free-fall, losing 3 of 4 Buffalo, Detroit and now, Kansas City. Lamar Jackson ended Sunday's 37-20 loss in KC on the bench with a possible hamstring injury. The Ravens damaged and depleted defense betrayed them in all 3 losses, giving up 117 points. The Texans dropped 3 straight to begin the season before rolling to a 26-0 win in a working-bye against Tennessee. This number fell 2 points Sunday night. Still, the Texans can keep it close enough.

Buzz: The Cardinals come off a Thursday night mini-bye and face perhaps the worst team in the NFL not from New Orleans. But with the Cardinals at home after a long break and the entire NFC West only separated by one game . . .

The Buccaneers Pirate Ship sails into the hostile waters of Puget Sound and steals one on the road. Or at least the cover.

Their their high-voltage defense and rebalanced offense wins the day in front of a maroon-clad crowd of displaced Commanders fans.

Buzz: The Peacock pulled a short straw with this Sunday night snoozer. Somehow, the Patriots - who looked like their Brady Era brethren Sunday in a 42-13 win over Carolina - keep this just close enough for a last-minute backdoor cover.
