With 34 points in 50 games this season, Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri is one of the top NHL players who figure to be available before the March 6 NHL trade deadline. The Flames are unlikely to make the playoffs (they have +1100 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook to qualify for the postseason) and the team already is unloading other veterans as they embark on their rebuild, so there is strong speculation that the Flames might deal Kadri ahead of the trade deadline.

Ahead of the NHL trade deadline, Bookies.com has developed updated Nazem Kadri next team odds, reflecting the latest league buzz and Calgary’s deadline direction.

The Flames have Kadri, their leading scorer, under contract at $7 for this season, plus an additional three years. That is a fair contract for what he provides, though the team could opt to retain salary to make him even more palatable in a trade, particularly to teams who are hard up against the salary cap.

Calgary Flames (+185)

Kadri is arguably the best player on the team, so on one hand, it makes sense to keep him. On the other hand, the Flames are rebuilding, so trading Kadri to acquire additional young players and draft picks also makes sense. It will be interesting to see what Calgary does.

Colorado Avalanche (+375)

The Colorado Avalanche were Kadri’s home from 2019 to 2022, and he had a a strong playoff run in his final season with them, winning a Stanley Cup before signing a big-money contract with the Flames. Still, he was a terrific fit with the Avalanche so it makes sense that the team would consider reacquiring him ahead of the trade deadline.

Toronto Maple Leafs (+450)

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been one of the teams most strongly linked to acquiring Kadri ahead of the March 6 trade deadline. Kadri played parts of 10 seasons for the Leafs from 2009-19 and was a popular player for the team before he was traded in 2019. He would be a terrific addition to the Leafs as they look to make a playoff push this season.

Montreal Canadiens (+600)

There have also been rumors that the Montreal Canadiens could look to acquire Kadri as the team tries to make a deep run in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Canadiens are one of the league’s top young teams on the rise, and Kadri could provide veteran experience.

Los Angeles Kings (+900)

The Los Angeles Kings are a solid team, but they need reinforcements if they are going to make a legitimate Stanley Cup run (they have +4500 odds at BetMGM Sportsbook to win the title). A deal for Kadri would help deepen their lineup and also provide a replacement for Anze Kopitar, who is retiring at the season’s end.

Dallas Stars (+1000)

The Dallas Stars are one of the best teams in the NHL, and general manager Jim Nill typically makes a big splash at the trade deadline to give his team the best chance to win the Stanley Cup. Acquiring a strong two-way center such as Kadri would certainly boost the Stars’ Cup chances.

The Field (+1400)

Kadri will be one of the most highly coveted hockey players ahead of the deadline, so the field is a viable option to acquire him if the Flames opt to deal him.
