Two-time All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman is a free agent for the first time in his MLB career, and the slugger is expected to command a massive deal on the open market - but perhaps not as big as he expected.
A two-time World Series winner, Bregman has played his entire nine-year career thus far with the Houston Astros before finally hitting free agency at age 30. With the calendar soon flipping to February, he's still available.
Bookies.com veteran MLB odds maker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical betting odds for what MLB team will sign him.

Top Contenders For Alex Bregman In Free Agency 2025
As Alex Bregman enters free agency, here’s a look at the leading teams vying for the All-Star’s signature
The Houston Astros have been Bregman’s home for the past nine seasons, and he has seen plenty of success in Houston, winning two World Series championships.
While Bregman will see what kind of money is waiting out there for him in free agency, don’t be shocked if he goes home. He has reportedly rejected a six-year, $156 million deal, as agent Scott Boras is looking for a deal closer to $200 million. That's clearly not going to happen elsewhere.
That opens the door to teams who also have a need at 3B, most notably the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have done the most work this off-season in trying to add Bregman, but the money hasn't been what Boras is seeking.
That opens the door for the Cubs, who don't have third basemen ranked in the Top 30 of most positional power rankings.

The Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners are in need of an upgrade at 3B, and Bregman would be a big addition to either team. The St. Louis Cardinals have Nolan Arenado.
He's looking to be traded but has reportedly already rejected a move to Houston using his no-trade clause. If Arenado does get moved, it opens up a spot at the hot corner.
A team could still pop out and make an offer for the money Bregman is seeking. All those teams are considered in The Field.
