After five seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, Brandon Ingram could be a very hot commodity on the trade market this NBA offseason.

Pelicans management has decided that Ingram and team star Zion Williamson simply don’t mesh great on the court. One of them, sources say, must go. That won’t be Zion.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has surveyed the NBA landscape and created NBA odds as to where Ingram will play his home games in 2024-25.

Brandon Ingram's Next NBA Destination

Statistically, Ingram regressed across the board this season. His points per game plummeted from 24.7 to 20.8, while his rebounds (5.1) and assists (5.7) also dipped. The scoring and rebounding numbers were his lowest in the five years in the Big Easy.

But in each season, the Pelicans as a team improved, winning more games than the prior year. This past season, the team jumped from 42-40 to 49-33. A first-round playoff loss soured the taste, however.

Ingram has just one year left on his contract (at $36 million). While most trading teams are likely to lock in the 26-year-old Ingram longer-term before making a move, the 6-8 forward could be a one-year rental in the right situation.

“A growing belief leaguewide that Pelicans will aggressively explore the trade market for Brandon Ingram before next season,” NBA insider Marc Stein noted

If the Pelicans can help it, they’ll move Ingram to the Eastern Conference. There are several contenders that could use such a player.

The Philadelphia 76ers are considered a contender for every major trade and free agent chip. They’re No. 2 in available projected salary cap space and have a roster ready to compete for a championship. They’re also likely to lose Tobias Harris in free agency. Ingram should be a top off-season target for the Sixers and they can make it work.

The Atlanta Hawks won the NBA Draft Lottery and are expected to take Aussie center Alex Sarr. That puts into question the status of Clint Capela. Jarrett Allen could be used as bait for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who need help on the wing, too.

Other teams with means and need include the Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards. Ingram doesn’t own a no-trade clause, but teams may not acquire him unless he agrees to a long-term deal.
