With one of the most promising young cores led by Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies took the leap and surprised some in the NBA betting community with a playoff berth last season.

Now, with higher expectations entering the 2021-22 campaign, NBA odds are right in line with Memphis once again being a playoff threat. If everything clicks together for the Grizzlies, they are in a great position to take another step forward in their rebuild.

Will the Grizzlies break through and become a consistent threat in the loaded Western Conference? Let’s dive into the NBA futures and NBA picks from sportsbooks on the Grizzlies’ projected outlook.

Grizzlies Win-Total Betting

The Line: 41.5 with PointsBet

Betting apps are right on the money with this projected win-total for the Grizzlies. Although Morant is one of the most promising under-25 talents in the Association, there’s still a lot of questions surrounding Memphis. In a super competitive West, finishing around .500 is a very realistic look-ahead for Memphis.

The Bet: Health-permitting, I like the Grizzlies to barely squeak above the 41.5 over-under. Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks, plus an intriguing collection of depth pieces, should keep Memphis above water.

Grizzlies Southwest Division Odds

The Line: +185 with BetMGM

The Dallas Mavericks are the favorites in the Southwest Division, which is a fair assumption with MVP favorite Luka Doncic entering another season with huge individual expectations. Although the Grizzlies might be more well-rounded, especially if Kristaps Porzingis continues his regression, their overall depth and star power isn’t on the Mavericks’ level just yet.

The Bet: The Grizzlies should settle in alongside the New Orleans Pelicans competing for second-place in the division behind Dallas. At BetMGM, I would stay away from this one.

Grizzlies Western Conference Odds

The Line: +5000 with DraftKings

Understandably so, the odds are not in the Grizzlies’ favor to make a realistic push for a Western Conference title in 2021-22. Memphis is still in the infant stages of their rebuild, nowhere close to being a real threat for a deep playoff run.

The Bet: At +5000 odds on DraftKings, this is another Grizzlies-related bet to avoid.

Grizzlies NBA Title Odds

The Line: +10000 with Caesars

Unless Morant takes an MVP leap, which isn’t on his trajectory yet in his young career, Memphis is two or three tiers below the real NBA title threats. If the Grizzlies make any noise, it will be for making the playoffs itself, not advancing any further past it.

The Bet: The easiest one to stay away from yet for Grizzlies sports betting futures. Memphis will come nowhere close to hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Best Grizzlies Player Prop Bets

The Line: Jaren Jackson Jr. Most Improved Player, +1800 with FanDuel

This is actually a very intriguing futures bet related to Memphis. Jaren Jackson Jr. was sidelined most of last season due to a knee injury suffered during the Orlando Bubble. Now, with his rehab fully in the rearview, Jackson Jr. slides in with the fourth-best odds for Most Improved Player.

The Bet: At +1800 odds on FanDuel, betting on Jackson Jr. to win Most Improved Player is actually a worthy flier to take. If the Grizzlies make the playoffs, plus Jackson Jr. looks like a real 1B to Ja Morant’s 1A, he should be in the race all season long.
