The Sacramento Kings have missed the postseason 15 straight seasons, the longest drought in the NBA. In a loaded Western Conference and without much luck in the Lottery to show for the last few seasons — thanks for nothing, Marvin Bagley — there’s a good chance this infamous run will continue.

There’s plenty of good young talent in the backcourt to make them competitive, and they should be a popular NBA betting pick thanks to their combination of a rock-solid offense (12th in efficiency, ninth in pace) and horrific defense (30th in efficiency). They’ll be a popular bet at betting apps to go over each night.

Kings Win-Total Betting

The Line: 35.5 (+100) at FanDuel

A core of DeAaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell should do some damage and at the very least make Sacramento an interesting follow. But the West is loaded, and Mitchell’s defensive prowess isn’t enough to help a defense that has historically bad in 2021. It takes a lot to compete in the West, and the Kings don’t have it. Betting sites are overrating Sacramento’s potential.

The Bet: Don’t trust the Kings. Take the Under here at FanDuel.

Kings Division Odds

The Line: +20000 with BetMGM

The Kings play in the Pacific Division. That includes championship contenders in the Lakers, Suns and Warriors. Even the Clippers could compete into May and June if Kawhi Leonard eventually returns from his ACL injury. What we’re saying here is that the Kings most certainly aren’t going to top those four teams in the standings to win their first Pacific Division crown since 2003. This would be the unlikeliest of NBA picks to hit this season.

The Bet: The Kings are not going to have a better record than the Lakers, Suns, Warriors, and Clippers. Avoid it at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Kings Conference Odds

The Line: +10000 at WynnBET

The Kings last won the Western Conference in 1951, when they were known as the Rochester Royals. There aren’t NBA odds long enough for us to consider betting the Kings to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time in 70 years. Maybe if they had drafted Luka Doncic instead of Marvin Bagley, we’d consider them longshots to get it done.

The Bet: Nope. Don’t even think about these odds at WynnBET, regardless of how good you believe Williamson is or can be.

Kings NBA Title Odds

The Line: +15000 with PointsBet Sportsbook

The Kings are an All-Star wing, a dominant center and about 4-5 bench spots away from competing in the Western Conference. Outside of that, they’re set. In all seriousness, there’s a better chance the Kings are picking first in June than it is them hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy. Maybe next year. Probably not. These NBA futures are long for a reason.

The Bet: The Kings are not winning the 2022 NBA Finals. You heard it here first. Avoid these NBA title odds at PointsBet Sportsbook.

Best Kings Player Prop Bets

The Line: De’Aaron Fox Most Improved Player, +2200 at DraftKings

A true bright spot for a franchise in need of one, Fox averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 assists for the Kings last season. His path to winning Most Improved Player won’t come via a statistical explosion — we’re not sure how much more he can add to his game — but in leading the Kings to their first playoff berth since Chris Paul’s rookie season. If you believe in the Kings this season, Fox is a solid bet here. Sportsbooks are underrating how good he is.

The Bet: There’s good value with these NBA odds. Grab this bet if you believe Sacramento will make the postseason at DraftKings Sportsbook.
