Washington Wizards Odds, Futures & Betting Predictions
The Wizards shocked everyone last season by A) trading John Wall for Russell Westbrook and B) using a massive second half to actually make the postseason. They were plenty of fun but none of it was sustainable, which is why they dealt Westbrook to the Lakers in the offseason and could move on from potential scoring champ Bradley Beal to enter a full rebuild.
One thing is for sure: This team will score. Though they were 17th in offensive efficiency last season, they easily led the league in pace and were 20th in defense. Even though they lose Westbrook, they’re still going to play the same way. They’re one of our favorite NBA picks for Overs.
Wizards Win-Total Betting
The Wizards were an excellent story in 2021, but it was sort of a best-case scenario. Westbrook and Beal blew up, the wacky, fast-paced offense worked as well as possible, and the supporting cast was solid. With Westbrook gone, and the potential that they may trade Beal, we’re not trusting the Wizards here. We’re surprised betting apps have their win total this high.
The Bet: Grab the Under at FanDuel. Too many question marks in D.C.
Wizards Division Odds
Though we don’t love anyone in the Southeast Division, our options of potential winners don’t include the Wizards. This will be a two-team race between the Heat and Hawks — and maybe the Hornets can make it interesting if LaMelo Ball really blows up. Washington will fight with the Magic for fourth place in this division. Sportsbooks aren’t believers, either.
Wizards Eastern Conference Odds
The Wizards haven’t won the Eastern Conference since 1979, when they were the Washington Bullets. While there was a period when Wall and Beal were at their best that they had an outside shot at earning a Finals berth, that window has slammed shut. There are no NBA odds long enough to provide value here.
The Bet: The Wizards won’t be competing in the East anytime soon. Pass on these odds at WynnBET.
Wizards NBA Title Odds
The Washington Bullets won the NBA championship in 1978, lost the Finals in 1979 and haven’t been back since. It’s going to be a while before the nation’s capital is looking at a potential title contender. If Wall and Beal couldn’t get it done in their prime, Beal and Kyle Kuzma certainly won’t. Betting sites know this, too, given the incredibly long NBA title odds.
The Bet: Nope. Don’t think about this one at PointsBet Sportsbook.
Best Wizards Player Prop Bets
The Line: Bradley Beat, Scoring Leader,
When it comes to scoring, Bradley Beal is the epitome of consistency. Though he’s never won a scoring title, he has finished second each of the last two years. Is this the season he breaks through? If he stays on the Wizards, someone is going to have to score. He’s the favorite for a reason. Of all the NBA futures for this team, this is one of our favorites.
The Bet: If he stays on the Wizards, he’s a great bet here at DraftKings Sportsbook.
