2025-26 NFL Team Ages: Ranking Every Playoff Roster From Youngest to Oldest

Does age matter in the NFL? We examined the 2025-26 NFL Team Ages, ranking every playoff roster from youngest to oldest.

The Average Roster Age (ARA) for each of the NFL playoff teams stands at 26 years, 3 months, 20 days.

The Opening Night ARA for all 32 NFL teams this past season was at 27 years, 1 month, 29 days.

At the start of the season, the Washington Commanders were the oldest team in the NFL, with a Week 1 ARA 28 years, 7 months, 4 days. The Green Bay Packers began the season with the youngest roster in the NFL at 26 years, 3 months, 2 days. This marked the second straight season the Packers began the year with the NFL’s youngest roster.

Youth has been served in the postseason. The Packers earned an NFC Wild Card seed. The Commanders have landed in Cancun.

The ARA for each team was computed by Bookies.com using birthdates of the 1,696 NFL players on each team’s current 53-man active roster via ESPN. All ages listed here are as of Saturday, the first day of Wild Card Weekend.

With that in mind, Bookies.com is giving NFL betting insight by ranking teams heading into 2025-26 postseason youngest to oldest.

What The NFL’s Age Data Tells Us

One of the main takeaways from glancing at the NFL’s average age breakdown for the 2025-26 postseason is how young some of the league’s top teams are. Of the 14 NFL playoff teams, five of them rank among the youngest seven rosters in the NFL. In addition to Green Bay, they are Seattle (the No. 1 seed in the NFL), Philadelphia, New England and Carolina.

The best sportsbook apps have given the Seahawks the shortest NFL odds to win Super Bowl 60.

On the other end of the NFL’s postseason age spectrum sit the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thanks in part to 41-year-old QB Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers enter the postseason with the oldest ARA of any playoff team. And they own the second-oldest NFL roster of any team at the end of the season, only behind the Commanders.

The Super Bowl champion Eagles made significant movement toward youth this offseason, having lost multiple key veterans to free-agency. Philly was 27th overall on the youngest-to-oldest list last year. They enter this postseason with the third youngest ARA of any Super Bowl hopeful.

For the Eagles, having 26-year-old quarterback Jalen Hurts and 27-year-olds Saquon Barkley and wideout A.J. Brown running the show offensively helps inspire confidence that the team’s Lombardi Trophy in February likely won’t be the last one seen in the City of Brotherly Love anytime soon.

Up in Green Bay, while the Packers haven’t won it all since 2010, there’s reason for optimism. The franchise has made the playoffs six times in the last seven seasons.
