2025 College Football Watchability Index: Georgia, Texas Top List
What are the most watchable games on the 2025 college football schedule this season?
We ran the numbers and created the Bookies.com Watchability Index (BWI).
Bookies.com analyzed each college football game currently offered on the nation's top legal sports betting apps this season and ranked each game based on its watchability. Our algorithm weighs betting lines, projected wins, and College Football Playoff odds, plus the game day atmosphere/weather, major off-field storylines, and the game’s availability on national TV or streaming service.
The college football schedule begins on August 23. Kansas State and Iowa State meet in Dublin, Ireland for the 2025 Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The Big 12 matchup kicks off at noon EDT.
Georgia leads the list with 6 appearances in our Top 25, while Texas plays 5 times.
Those teams meet in Week 12. That matchup is No. 2 overall on our countdown.
Let's look at the rest.

SEC Championship Rematch Tops Watchability List
The No. 1 game in the 2025 College Football Bookies Watchability Index takes place in Week 12 when the Texas Longhorns visit the Georgia Bulldogs in a rematch of the 2024 SEC Championship Game. Georgia held off Texas to win that game 22-19 in overtime. This game marks the first time Texas has ever played between the hedges at Sanford Stadium in Athens.
The winner could well own the inside track for another appearance in the conference title game on December 6 down the road in Atlanta.
The Longhorns' trip to Ohio State during Week 1 on August 30 ranks No. 2 in the 2025 College Football Bookies Watchability Index. The game is a rematch of the 2025 Cotton Bowl. The eventual national champion Buckeyes won 28-14 and covered the 6-point line.
Those teams lost a total of 27 starters to the April NFL Draft.
But while the players have changed, the storyline remains the same. The Longhorns enter his season fully committed to Arch Manning at QB.
Ohio State’s defense lost its top two edge rushers and its coordinator in the offseason. The Bucks defend their national with a new quarterback.
Still, the Bucks are a consensus favorite to repeat as national champions, with Texas, Georgia, and Penn State clustered atop the board.
Led by Ohio State, 8 teams have minus-money odds to reach the 12-team College Football Playoff. The national title game takes place in Miami on January 19, 2026.
How We Did It
Multiple factors produced the algorithm for the Bookies.com Watchability Index. Bookies.com scored each game offered with a betting line at legal North American sports books in the following manner:
- WIN TOTALS: Projected Win Totals Combined
- ADJUSTED CFB PLAYOFF ODDS: Weighted Average of Each Team’s College Football Playoff Odds. The combined probability to reach the CFB playoff is then converted and equally weighed against the win totals and point spread.
- POINT SPREAD: Point Spread. A pick’em gets 20 points, a 1-point spread 19 points, a 2-point spread 18 points, and so on. Games with lines larger than 20 points recevied a negative score in this category.
Individual matchups were also awarded 3 points each if they included:
- Are scheduled in prime time or in national network or streaming slot
- Include a major secondary storyline in addition to the game itself (i.e. a traditional rivalry, conference or national championship preview, or potential playoff implications)
- Have the potential for extreme weather, or an impactful crowd
This formula helps fans and users of betting apps alike identify which games are truly worth watching—and possibly wagering on.
