2026 FIFA World Cup Betting Guide: Overall Tournament, Match Odds & Best Bets

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest — and most-bet — sporting event in history. Our 2026 FIFA World Cup Betting Guide offers a look at what U.S. soccer bettors can expect as the tournament continues through July 19.
For the first time, meanwhile, soccer's main event will feature 48 teams (expanded from 32), stretching across three host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. That expansion alone reshapes the betting landscape. And more teams mean more group-stage matches, more mismatches, deeper prop menus, and greater volatility in futures pricing. In addition, it introduces new dynamics around travel, climate, and scheduling that sharp bettors — and sportsbooks — will have to account for.
And for the first time in the United States, prediction markets will be offering trading on the World Cup — effectively making World Cup “betting” available in all 50 states via multiple platforms. Kalshi, for example, lists 424 World Cup markets and has handled more than $87 million in its “Men’s World Cup Winner” market since launching that contract in May 2025.

2026 FIFA World Cup Betting Guide: Best Bets
Overall Winner: France (+480)
Oddamakers see France and Spain as virtually even at the top of the World Cup futures board, with Spain holding a slight edge after its UEFA Euro triumph. But among the favorites, France stands out as the strongest pick. England remains heavily dependent on Harry Kane, while Brazil continues to search for consistency and chemistry.
France, meanwhile, boasts unmatched depth. Kylian Mbappé is the headline star, but Les Bleus have enough elite talent across the roster to win matches even when he isn't the focal point. In fact, France's depth is so impressive that its second-choice lineup could arguably contend for a deep tournament run on its own.
Under manager Didier Deschamps, France has perfected the disciplined, pragmatic style that thrives in World Cup play, reaching the last two finals. Look for France to avent its heartbreaking penalty-shootout loss to Argentina in the 2022 final.
If you're looking for a value play -- keep an eye on Norway (+3000).

Group Play Matches - Odds & Best Bets

Friday, June 19
USA v Australia
Group D - Seattle Stadium
Pick: USA ML & Under 3.5 Total Goals (+122) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The status of an injured Christian Pulisic is a doubt due to a calf problem. His absence would significantly alter how USA attack. USA have the quality edge and home advantage at a raucous and potentially deafeaning Lumen Field - home of the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and the famed "12th Man." Team USA's press was relentless against Paraguay. Australia will not give the Americans the same space they enjoyed in their opener. Its defense is legit. FanDuel prices USA at -170, the draw at +340, and Australia at +420. Take the home team in a low-scoring affair.
Scotland v Morocco
Group C - Boston Stadium
Pick: Morocco ML (-135) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The Tartan Army captured the hearts and mind of New Englanders with bagpipes, kilts, and a capacity to consume alcohol not seen in Boston since the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. he context is extraordinary. Scotland have never made it to the knockout round of a major tournament and sit top of Group C after beating Haiti, so the carrot is dangling. But Morocco have lost just once in their last 30 games, and their Match 1 showing tells the real story — at times in that 1-1 draw, they gave Brazil a soccer lesson. Morocco's game is defense, wait, and then strike. That style carries the day here.
Brazil v Haiti
Group C - Philadelphia Stadium
Pick: Brazil ML & Over 3.5 Goals (-105) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: Brazil carries 93% of the bets to win on DraftKings and is priced at 89% to win on Kalshi. Its draw against Morocco in March 1 sent shockwaves across both the North and South American Continents. Brazil have won all three previous meetings with Haiti by a combined score of 17-1. The depth and quality of Brazil's roster here is too deep for Haiti in this match. Brazil should keep a clean sheet here, as well.
Turkey v Paraguay
Group D - San Francisco Bay Area Stadium
Pick: Turkey ML (-105) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The stakes couldn't be clearer. Both sides lost their openers. With Americans and Socceroos already on 3 points apiece, the loser here is almost certainly going home. A draw is essentially useless, which should guarantee an open, attacking game at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco. Turkey had 30 attempts against Australia without scoring — they dominated statistically but were catastrophically wasteful in front of goal. That changes here. The floodgates - in a sense - open for Turkey this time.
Saturday, June 19
Netherlands v Sweden
Group F - Houston Stadium
Pick: Both Teams Score & Total Over 2.5 Goals (-105) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The pre-tournament narrative is gone. Sweden, not Netherlands, sit top after thrashing Tunisia 5-1, while the Dutch were held to a 2-2 draw by Japan in a result that exposed real defensive frailty. Five of the last six meetings between these nations have featured goals for both teams, and six of the last nine have generated at least three goals.
Germany v Ivory Coast
Group E - Toronto Stadium
Pick: Germany ML & Ivory Coast Over 0.5 Goals (+178) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The best game of the day — both sides arrive in Toronto with three points, meaning the winner takes pole position in Group E and will almost certainly advance to the knockout round. Germany has won ten straight games in international play. Four of Germany's last five results were victories in which both teams scored — the Germans win, but they don't shut the door cleanly.
Ecuador v Curaçao
Group K - Kansas City Stadium
Pick: Ecuador -2.5 Asian Handicap (+100) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: Ecuador are priced at -1000 on FanDuel — risk $1,000 to win $100 — and Kalshi has them at 88% to win in 90 minutes. The mission is simple: win, and score as many as possible, because goal difference against Germany and Ivory Coast could decide who advances from Group E. The over 3.5 goals total is priced at -146, reflecting just how open this game is expected to be in Kansas City.
Sunday, June 21
Tunisia v Japan
Group F - Monterrey Stadium
Pick: Japan ML & Total Over 1.5 Goals (-105) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: This game begins at Midnight ET, but 9 p.m. local time, so it counts as a Sunday game on the World Cup calendar. Tunisia sacked head coach Sabri Lamouchi after z 5-1 loss to Sweden and installed Hervé Renard on an emergency basis. So any brilliance he might cultivate hasn't had time to ripen. Japan enters this match on a roll, having played the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw in Dallas. Japan controls the ball and the tempo in Monterrey's heat.
Spain v Saudi Arabia
Group H - Atlanta
Pick: Spain To Score Over 2.5 Goals (-160) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The biggest story in Group H: Spain drew 0-0 with Cape Verde in Match 1 — 70% possession, close to 30 shots, and nothing to show for it. The reigning European champions and joint-tournament favorite were genuinely stunned. With all four teams in Group H level on one point, a second successive failure to score would leave Spain in real danger of a historic early exit. Saudi Arabia finds itself overmatched by a Spanish team that will play with both passion and a bit of desperation. Spain has 94% of the bets to win at DraftKings.
Belgium v Iran
Group G - Los Angeles Stadium
Pick: Belgium ML & Total Over 2.5 Goals (+122) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: Belgium carries real questions in this match. A defensive fragility that plagued Belgium in qualifying remains the core concern. Iran's 2-2 draw with New Zealand showed genuine attacking ambition and forward intent. Belgium's individual quality is simply too much to contain for 90 minutes at SoFi. But Iran will find the net at least once against a leaky Belgian backline.
Uruguay v Cape Verde
Group H - Miami Stadium
Pick: Draw (+320) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: Group H is the most remarkable story of the tournament so far. All four teams sit on one point after a round of draws — meaning every team in the group is still alive and every team is under pressure. Cape Verde controlled the ball just 26% in its 0-0 draw with Spain. That lopsided play may not be sustainable here. The under is the safe play here (at -160). But we're going to ride the trend of draws in this group one more time.
New Zealand v Egypt
Group G - BC Place Vancouver
Pick: Egypt ML & Total Over 1.5 Goals (+110) via OddsJam and DraftKings
Buzz: The most consequential match in Group G's second round weighs heavily in Egypt's favor. The quality gap is real and significant. Egypt ranks 29th in the world; New Zealand sits 85th. Egypt's disciplined qualifying record and Mo Salah's match-winning ability in the final third make them clear favorites.

2026 FIFA World Cup Betting Guide: 'Home Turf' Drives Interest
From a macro betting perspective, this tournament represents a collision of global soccer and North American scale. The United States will host the majority of matches, including the final, with games spread across massive NFL stadiums. Travel distances between venues — potentially thousands of miles — could influence recovery cycles and squad rotation in ways we haven’t seen in more compact host nations.
On the market side, liquidity is expected to surge. The 2022 World Cup shattered betting handle records worldwide, and 2026 arrives amid rapid growth in U.S. legal sports betting, prediction markets, and AI-driven modeling. Books will offer deeper menu options than ever: expanded player props, micro-markets, live in-game derivatives, and same-game parlays layered onto a month-long global event.
At 30,000 feet, the 2026 FIFA World Cup isn’t just a tournament. It’s a stress test for sportsbooks, a proving ground for data-driven bettors, and potentially the most bet-on sporting event in history.
During in its 2025 Q4 earnings report, FanDuel/Flutter CEO Peter Jackson hinted that his company plans to push toward prediction market investment - and customer engagement - to the tune of between $200 and $300 million.

What Can U.S. Bettors Expect During The 2026 FIFA World Cup?
This will be the third World Cup since PASPA was overturned in 2018. That Supreme Court ruling opened the door for sports betting across the United States. New Jersey launched first. Borgata Atlantic City Director of Race and Sports Book Thomas Gable has been there for it all.
“We expect betting interest to be very high on the World Cup, especially with a number of the matches being played in close proximity to Atlantic City at the Linc and at MetLife. Advance handle on the overall winner market has been pretty good so far. It will certainly pick up more and more as we get closer,” Gable told Bookies.com.
The U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) is at +6000 odds but the team has drawn betting interest and Gable predicts that trend will grow.
“I’m sure the wagering on the USA will pick up from recreational players. But they have been pretty much ignored in what we have taken thus far. I truly believe that handle will far exceed what it was in the last World Cup (and that was pretty strong),” he said.
Gable’s counterpart at DraftKings, Director of Sports Operations Johnny Avello, began his career on the other side of the sports-betting window writing tickets at the Las Vegas Hilton some 42 years ago. He, too, has seen both the growth of soccer in the U.S. and the betting arc around the World Cup.
'We’re Planning Our Most Expansive Soccer Offering Yet'
“The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events on the planet, and this summer will be a massive moment for us at DraftKings. Soccer continues to gain momentum in the U.S., and the World Cup brings in everyone — from diehards to casuals eager to get in on the excitement,” Avello told Bookies.com. “We’re planning our most expansive soccer offering yet — deeper player props, dynamic in-match betting, exciting promotions — all built to give fans a best-in-class experience.”
Part of that experience will be the so-called DraftKings “Super App,” which is expected to house its gaming verticals — from sports betting to casino and lottery — on one platform tailored to the user’s location.
Mark Bickerdike, lead soccer oddsmaker at Caesars Sportsbook, is based in London. He said bettors in the U.S. can expect a full palette of offerings, similar to what one might see for an NFL game.
“This tournament will bring the most expansive offering ever seen for a soccer tournament,” he told Bookies.com.
Among the available futures markets:
- Tournament Winner
- Group Winner
- Number of USA Group Stage Goals
For each game in the tournament, bettors can expect main markets, player props, and stat bets.
“Our expectations for the summer’s World Cup are extremely high. Having an extended tournament in a United States bettor-friendly time zone should see this being the highest-handle soccer competition that the industry has ever seen,” Bickerdike said.

Where Is The Money On The 2026 FIFA World Cup?
At DraftKings, Caesars, and elsewhere, the early money has landed on Spain. The country has 30% of DraftKings’ handle to win the Cup.
“Spain is rightfully the favorite for the tournament after winning Euro 2024 and dominating their qualifying group. But it is quite an uninspiring pick at +400,” Bickerdike said. “Personally, I like Argentina's chances of regaining the trophy and feel they are a bit of value at +800. Their form continues to be good. They have great, consistent squad depth. And hey will be able to handle the weather conditions well.”
But any pre-match money could be deceiving.
“In-play betting and parlays will play a huge role in the World Cup on our platform. We wouldn’t be surprised to see more money taken in-play than pre-match by quite a margin,” Bickerdike said.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Betting Guide: Tips For 1st-Time Bettors
Bickerdike offers the following guidance for the first-time soccer bettor: don’t get too cute. If you've bet the NFL, you'll see at home.
Pick the team you like to watch, maybe wager on them to win, then sit back and enjoy the show. For comparison’s sake, we do have player prop markets like American football has. There’s a wide range of stats to bet on — including shots, tackles, and assists. Although the sport is different, the way these markets are displayed and priced is very similar.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Betting Guide: Integrity
Multiple operators are working with FIFA to monitor betting irregularities around the world. Sportradar and FIFA’s agreement runs through 2031. The company says it “provides comprehensive AI-driven bet-monitoring services.” That includes expanded intelligence and investigation support, plus dedicated risk-assessment services for FIFA and its 211 member associations.
Since 2017, Sportradar has monitored more than 600,000 matches globally on behalf of FIFA, the company said.
Meanwhile, Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) recently joined FIFA’s World Cup Task Force. The Task Force works to deter match-fixing, ensure security and fan safety, and prevent disruptions.
