The often-injured Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis could be on the move before the Feb. 5 trade deadline. Who are the top contenders for him?

As the Feb. 5 2026 NBA Trade Deadline nears, Anthony Davis’ name continues to surface in league chatter.

But recent reports suggest the market remains relatively quiet unless a team makes a surprise all-in push for the Dallas Mavericks superstar. Davis is out with a hand injury but could still be on the trade block. So Bookies.com, as part of our NBA betting analysis, has developed hypothetical odds on where Davis could land if a deal materializes before the deadline.

Anthony Davis Next Team Odds (Before 2026 trade deadline)

TeamOddsPct. Chance

Atlanta Hawks+30003.2%
Los Angeles Lakers+35002.8%

Dallas Mavericks (-190)

Last year, the Mavericks traded franchise player Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for a package of players and draft picks, including Davis. The deal was widely panned as one of the worst trades of all time when it happened and Davis has done nothing to change the narrative since joining the Mavericks. The 10-time All-Star has only played 29 games for the Mavs since they acquired him.

It seems Davis is always injured. Worse yet, his three-year, $175 million contract still has two years left after this, including a player option for the third and final season. When he is healthy, Davis is an All-NBA talent, but he is rarely healthy these days and is now 32.

His trade value has never been lower than now, so the odds (we say -190) are that the Mavericks will keep him and roll the dice that he can return to his All-Star form instead of selling low. This season, in 20 games (less than half of the team’s 46 as of Jan. 26), Davis has averaged 20.4 points and 11 rebounds per game. Dallas (19-27) is 12th in the Western Conference and has +3000 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook to make the playoffs.

Golden State Warriors (+800)

If Davis is traded, then the Golden State Warriors have to be one of the top contenders to acquire his services. The Warriors are a dynasty on the decline, but 37-year-old Steph Curry remains one of the best players in the NBA, so the team can’t really rebuild yet. Warriors forward Jimmy Butler recently tore his ACL and is out for the season, but the Warriors could use his contract and make a straight-up trade for Davis, who makes the exact same amount of money. If the Warriors throw in a few first-round picks, the Mavericks might be interested in taking this deal, with the hope that Butler will return to full health by next season.

Milwaukee Bucks (+1200)

The Milwaukee Bucks are another team on the decline, but they still have superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster. At least for now – see our Giannis Antetokounmpo Next Team Odds story for the latest insight.

But if Milwaukee retains Antetokounmpo and the team wants to keep their star happy, they could look to make a deal with the Mavericks for Davis, But it would likely cost the Bucks several of their depth pieces plus draft picks, which is why we think this has a 7.7% chance of happening. That would equate to +1200 odds at sports betting sites.

Los Angeles Clippers (+1400)

The Los Angeles Clippers are the league’s oldest team and do not look like a contender this season. Still, with aging stars James Harden and Kawhi Leonard on the roster, they might try to make a trade for another aging star like Davis to help join forces with them.

Toronto Raptors (+2500)

There have been rumors linking the Toronto Raptors to Davis. The Raptors have been one of the NBA’s surprise teams this year, but to make a legitimate run at a title, they could really use another star player. That’s why the Raptors could roll the dice and try to trade for Davis.

Atlanta Hawks (+3000)

The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the top teams connected to acquiring Davis. The team has been disappointing and it recently traded former franchise player Trae Young. But Atlanta’s front office might try and make a swing for Davis and hope that he is the missing piece; at Caesars Sportsbook, the Hawks have +100 odds tyo make the playoffs and a -135 line to miss out.

Los Angeles Lakers (+3500)

Davis starred for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2019 to 2025, winning the NBA Championship in 2020 with the team, before he was traded last year for Doncic. Still, the Lakers may try to bring him back if they can, as Davis was a great fit there. The Lakers are another aging team but at least they seem likely to make the playoffs.

The Field (+1800)

Anthony Davis is injury-prone, expensive and aging. But there is no doubt that the 6-foot-10 star is one of the NBA’s premier players when he is at the top of his game. That’s why teams might try to buy low on Davis before the deadline, making The Field (any team other than the ones we have listed) a viable option for his services.
