It’s been a rough go of it for fans of the Arizona Cardinals of late across NFL betting, with the NFC West stalwarts skidding towards another terrible campaign in 2025, with a 3-13 (.188) record and little to show for the future in Glendale.

While third-year Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon told media members this week that he expects to keep his job in 2026 and beyond, the team at Bookies.com went ahead and compiled some odds on who could be next in line for Arizona, after Gannon’s 15-35 run (so far) with the team.

Who Replaces Gannon?

While professional football at large has largely been a wasteland in the desert this century, the last few years have been especially bleak, with one playoff berth for the Cardinals since 2015, that being a Wild Card Round loss in 2021.

As Gannon’s time appears to be running thin, it looks like a host of current NFL coordinators could be next in line to replace him, with current Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady (+475) leading the pack.

Brady’s five-year run in the NFL as an OC with the Carolina Panthers and Bills has seen him oversee three top 10 offenses when it came to yards and points per game, with this year’s Buffalo team ranking fifth and sixth overall by those metrics.

Other potential candidates for the Cardinals opening this time around include Seattle Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak at +550 and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley at +600.

Of those two, only Hafley has head coaching experience (albeit at the NCAA level), with the current Packers DC going 22-26 over four seasons with Boston College from 2020 to 2023.

Kubiak’s the son of former Houston Texans and Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, who won a Super Bowl with the Broncos in 2015 while going 82-75 (.522) across his career with the two AFC clubs.

Klint’s first season as the Seahawks OC has reaped immediate benefits, with the club posting the second-most points in the NFL this year while ranking eighth leaguewide when it comes to yards per game, as the Emerald City stalwarts look to cap off the year with an NFC West divisional crown by beating the San Francisco 49ers on the road on Saturday.

Who Else Could Get the Job?

While the three men above are our current clubhouse leaders to replace Gannon in Glendale, don’t rule out other hot coordinator candidates like Indianapolis Colts DC Lou Anarumo and Los Angeles Chargers DC Jesse Minter, who are co-listed at +1100.

Anarumo was the runner-up to Gannon the last time Arizona had an opening, which could inspire team officials to go with him this time around, especially given his success in Indianapolis.

Minter’s first NFL defensive coordinator role after spending three years with Vanderbilt and Michigan in the same role has seen him help Jim Harbaugh build a winner in Tinseltown, with the league’s seventh-best defense leaguewide in terms of points allowed and takeaways this year, as L.A. sits at 11-5 for the year.

Outside of those contenders, keep an eye on potential Arizona coaching longshots like Los Angeles Rams DC Chris Shula and Denver Broncos (and former Cardinals) defensive coordinator Vance Joseph listed at +1500 apiece along with current Cardinals OC Drew Petzing.

Four other candidates, including Houston Texans DC Matt Burke, current Kansas City Chiefs OC and former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy, current Minnesota Vikings DC and former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores and former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy are all co-listed at +3000 to be the next man up in Glendale.

For now, what we know is that Gannon has one game to coach (at least), as the 3-13 Cardinals limp over to L.A. to play the Rams at 4:25 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, doing so as a 7.5-point road underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook in Week 18 of the NFL regular season.
