The Toronto Blue Jays are in the World Series for the first time since 1993, taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers for MLB supremacy, though they are underdogs at MLB betting sites. One of the Jays’ top players is shortstop Bo Bichette, who is a pending free agent.

After having another great regular season, Bichette has been out with an injury for the playoffs, though he is expected to be back in time for the World Series. After that, though, it’s up in the air if the 27-year-old Bichette will remain a Blue Jay any longer, as he is a free agent for the first time in his baseball career.

With Bichette expected to test free agency this offseason, Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical betting odds for which team he could sign with.

Toronto Blue Jays (+300)

The Toronto Blue Jays won the AL Pennant this year and are set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. Amazingly, they have done so without the contributions of Bichette, who has been injured since early September. Bichette is set to return to the team in the World Series, providing the Jays with another big bat as the squad looks to win it all. Despite the Jays drafting Bichette in 2016 and being the only team he’s played for during his seven-year MLB career, he still figures to test free agency, though the Jays will try to keep him. The Jays have a big market and their owners have big pockets, so expect the team to make a run for him.

Detroit Tigers (+350)

The Detroit Tigers lost in the ALDS to the Seattle Mariners by the thinnest of margins in an epic, 15-inning Game 5. The biggest reason the Tigers lost was that the team simply could not get the big hit. This team needs to improve its offense, and signing someone like Bichette, who is one of the game’s top hitters, would surely help the Tigers out as they look to make the playoffs again. The Tigers don’t typically spend big money in free agency, but Bichette may be an exception.

New York Yankees (+500)

The New York Yankees lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS, and one of the reasons why was the poor play of shortstop Anthony Volpe. The Yankees need to get better, and Bichette makes them a better team. Either as their new shortstop or moving to another infielder position, Bichette would be a big get for a Yankees team looking to get back in the World Series hunt. The Yankees simply do not tolerate losing, and the team has not won a championship since 2009. If they are going to get back to the promised land, adding Bichette would help them out.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+700)

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the best team in the game overall and have been for several years now. While they already have Mookie Betts at shortstop, perhaps they could sign Bichette and move Betts to another position. Or, they could move Bichette to another position if they agreed to it. Either way, the Dodgers have unlimited resources and are a top target for Bichette.

Atlanta Braves (+750)

The Atlanta Braves struggled with production at shortstop last year as the team made the playoffs. They need another hitter, and Bichette would help their lineup out a lot as the team looks to bounce back next season and make the playoffs after an ultra-disappointing season. The Braves don’t usually sign big-name free agents, but Bichette could be the exception.

Seattle Mariners (+900)

The Seattle Mariners lost a heartbreaker of a Game 7 to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS, and one of the biggest issues for them during the season was a lack of timely hits. Signing someone like Bichette, who is one of the top hitters in the game, would help the Mariners return to the playoffs, and perhaps, finally make it to the World Series for the first time as a franchise. Plus, what better way to stick it to the Jays than to steal one of their best players?

The Field (+450)

Bichette is one of the best pure hitters in baseball, and he would make any team that he plays for better. Therefore, expect many teams to come calling on Bichette as he is one of the top free agents on the market this offseason.
