With just 11 days remaining until the Daytona 500, Richard Childress Racing announced a multi-faceted partnership with BetMGM on Wednesday.

The two companies say the partnership is the first of its kind between a NASCAR team and a sports betting operator.

BetMGM will collaborate with RCR on a variety of marketing opportunities, including primary sponsorship for select races during the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series, according to a news release. It will also be the official sports betting operator of Richard Childress Racing.

"BetMGM is at the forefront of the sports betting and online gaming industry and Richard Childress Racing can certainly relate to their pioneering vision,” Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, said in the news release. “This innovative relationship will provide opportunities to collaborate in new and groundbreaking ways.”

BetMGM’s agreement with RCR kicks this month at Daytona International Speedway with an associate partnership on RCR’s No. 3 Chevrolet driven by Austin Dillon, as well as the No. 8 Chevrolet driven by Tyler Reddick, the release said.

For his part, Dillon has been a supporter of NASCAR’s sports betting push in recent years, saying it gets more people interested in the sport.

NASCAR Gaming Partner

The Daytona 500 begins 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. BetMGM was named as an authorized NASCAR gaming partner on Aug. 11.

“Richard Childress Racing is one of the most respected and formidable teams in motorsports. Together we will develop compelling marketing opportunities and activations that introduce the BetMGM sports betting brand to NASCAR fans worldwide,” Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, said in the release.

BetMGM’s mobile app is live in 10 states after launching in Michigan and Virginia in January.
