4 Chicago White Sox Prop Bets Worth Backing In 2020 Season

The Chicago White Sox won 10 more games in 2019 than they did in 2018. It wasn’t enough to get to .500, but the young-and-growing Sox are trending upward.

Bookies.com reveals four MLB futures best bets for the Chicago White Sox 2020 MLB season.

Prop BetOdds
Jose Abreu — Most RBIs +5000
Bet it at BetMGM
Alex Colome — Most Saves +1200
Bet it at BetMGM
White Sox — Win AL Central +325
Bet it at William Hill
Lucas Giolito — AL Cy Young Award +1800
Bet it at PointsBet

Jose Abreu — Most RBIs (+5000)

In the five seasons Jose Abreu has played at least 130 games for the White Sox, he’s knocked in at least 100 runs. Last season was a breakout for the low-key star, registering an AL-high 123 RBIs, just three shy of Anthony Rendon’s MLB high.

And yet, Abreu is set at a price that places him 15th on the list. But here’s the thing: aside from his RBI total, the rest of his stats were fairly consistent with previous years. He didn’t hit out of his mind to get to 123 RBIs, he was simply surrounded by better players. Those guys got on base, and he was able to get them home.

Chicago’s lineup should be even better in 2020. That means more guys on base when he’s at the plate, and potentially better pitches to see. That means he should have another big year. Take Abreu as a valuable dark horse to win the RBI title at BetMGM.

Alex Colome — Most Saves (+1200)

Alex Colome was a rock out of the bullpen for the Sox in 2019, finishing with a decent 30 saves, a 2.80 ERA and .191 batting average allowed.

The Sox should be a better team in 2020, but not Yankees/Dodgers-level good. That means a lot of close games. He has the stuff and the opportunity to get to 40 saves. This is a guy who had 47 saves in 2017 with the Rays — he can handle the pressure and the workload. Take Colome to win the saves crown at BetMGM.

White Sox — Win AL Central (+325)

The Sox haven’t won the division since 2008. They haven’t even finished in the top two since 2012. They won’t be favored to do so again, with the Twins and Indians owning the Central lately.

But the White Sox made great strides in 2019, and followed it up with one of the league’s top offseasons, adding marquee free agents Yasmani Grandal and Edwin Encarnacion, re-signing Abreu and trading for OF Nomar Maraza. They bulked up a questionable starting rotation by adding Gio Gonzalez and former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel.

On paper, the gap between the White Sox and the Central stalwarts Twins and Indians has narrowed. A couple of key victories in those critical series, and they could have enough wins to challenge for the division. Take the White Sox to win the AL Central at William Hill.

Lucas Giolito — AL Cy Young Award (+1800)

4 Chicago White Sox Prop Bets Worth Backing In 2020 Season 2

Last year was a big breakout season for Giolito – until it wasn’t.

Lucas Giolito was an unhittable force in the first half of the season. At one stage between May and June, he allowed just six runs over eight starts with 65 strikeouts. But his second season as a starter faltered late. He still finished 14-9 with a 3.41 ERA. He had a league-leading three complete games and two shutouts. He reduced his walks from 90 to 57 and slashed his earned runs allowed nearly in half (118 to 67).

There’s a chance he falls back some, but his swing-and-miss ratio was among the best in the majors — not far behind the likes of Jacob deGrom. This one is a risk but the odds are solid, and his demonstrated streak of dominance is an advantage in a short season. Find Giolito to win the AL Cy Young at PointsBet .
