It’s time again to hand out the best MLS betting option from the board this weekend, and it’s nice to see a full slate of matches to choose from.

With the Gold Cup and Copa America tournaments still running, we still have to account for all of the players that remain in those competitions and are missing Major League Soccer games.

However, the match I have chosen this weekend really doesn’t have many missing players, so it is easier to know what to expect from who will be on the field.

Portland vs. Dallas - Over 3 Goals At +102 With 888Sport

Goals are the theme of this match, and we can expect plenty of balls in the back of the net when these two hit Providence Park for the lone Sunday affair on the schedule.

Let’s start with Dallas, and my first concern is towards goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez. He is obviously over the ankle injury that kept him out of both of Dallas’ U.S. Open Cup affairs, but he just doesn’t look comfortable to me.

Dallas played a midweek affair with Vancouver on Wednesday, and Gonzalez let a 2-0 lead evaporate in a 2-2 draw. The 94th-minute goal allowed by Gonzalez should never have happened, although the shot from Vancouver’s sub, Lucas Venuto, was quite a blast. Regardless, most goalkeepers wouldn’t look as confused as Gonzalez did try to block the shot.

Also, Dallas took 26 shots against Vancouver which went for naught, and Dallas manager Luchi Gonzalez said, “It felt like a loss” after the game.

Meanwhile, Portland and Coach Giovanni Savarese lost 2-1 on Wednesday at Montreal. The Timbers have still only played two home games after their lengthy road trip to start the campaign, but they will also have quite a run of home games to come as a result.

Just as there are concerns for the Dallas keeper, we can certainly have the same feeling toward Portland GK Jeff Attinella. He has pretty much cost himself the full-time starter’s role as Steve Clark has emerged. Clark might just land the role in net for the second half of the season, and we might expect him to start Sunday with the short rest for both teams. Clark has made seven starts for Portland between MLS and the U.S Open Cup and is 6-1.

Expect a Portland home win the likes of 3-1 at home and consider the Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half at +200 with 888Sport as well.
