We’ve reached the point of the college basketball betting season where trends can’t be ignored and early outliers have come back to the middle. We’re in the final days of the regular season and now have a clear picture regarding college basketball’s biggest overachievers in 2021.

Of course, we’re talking about teams that continue to cover night in and night out. Bettors know some of the best teams in the country haven’t been great against the spread, while some of the below-average squads have been killing it at the betting window all season.

With that in mind, here are the five best Power 5 teams against the spread with March Madness rapidly approaching.

1. UConn 14-4-1 ATS (77.8%)

We’ve been touting UConn in this space for weeks and the Huskies continue to make us look good. They’re now the top Power 5 team in the nation against the spread thanks in large part to the return of star guard James Bouknight. The Huskies covered twice more this week in wins over Marquette and Seton Hall and should be a significant favorite again in Saturday’s regular-season finale against Georgetown. And if you’re looking for a serious long shot futures bet, the Huskies are currently +3000 to win the national championship at DraftKings sportsbook.

2. Michigan, 16-5 ATS (76.2%)

The Wolverines clinched an outright Big Ten championship in style Thursday night with a win and cover over Michigan State. Michigan was a -12 favorite, a big line for an in-state rivalry game, but the Wolverines had no trouble laying it in a 69-50 win over the Spartans. They play Michigan State again Sunday in East Lansing and could be favored by double digits once more considering how the first game played out.

3. Arkansas 16-7-1 ATS (69.6%)

It’s not too late to hop on the Arkansas bandwagon. The Razorbacks have covered eight in a row and nine of their past 10 with one game left in the regular season. The spreads have been getting bigger with Arkansas favored in its last four games, covering as -6.5 favorites against LSU and again at -6.5 against South Carolina in a 101-73 drubbing. The line will be even higher against a terrible Texas A&M team Saturday, after which Arkansas could be a nice sleeper pick to make a deep NCAA Tournament run.

4. Oregon State 16-8-1 ATS (66.7%)

It was another very productive week for the Beavers at the sportsbooks. Oregon State has covered seven in a row during a ridiculous stretch in which it has only been favored twice. The Beavers just pulled off two upset wins, beating Stanford as a +5 underdog and Utah as a +5.5 underdog. They’ll likely be dogs again in Sunday’s season finale when they host in-state rival Oregon.

5. Baylor, 14-7 ATS (66.7%)

Baylor is 1-2 against the spread since returning from a three-week layoff, but it’s still one of the top bets in college basketball. Bears bettors got stung in cruel fashion Thursday night as Baylor beat Oklahoma by 11 points with the Bears favored by 12. Baylor led by 11 at halftime but couldn’t seal the deal ATS in the second half. They’ll likely be a small favorite again Sunday in a highly intriguing matchup against No. 18 Texas Tech.
