Star wide receiver George Pickens’ market looks different than most top free agents and his destination for next season is worth watching for NFL betting. Reportedly, the Dallas Cowboys plan to use the franchise tag to keep him in-house for 2026, which would dramatically reduce the chances that he reaches true open free agency.

That said, the tag can sometimes function as a placeholder for a long- term deal — or, in rarer cases, a tag-and-trade — so a handful of WR-needy teams still show up as longshots.

With Pickens potentially on the move, Bookies.com has put together next team odds for the Pro Bowl WR.

Dallas Cowboys (-400)

The Dallas Cowboys traded third- and fifth-round draft picks to the Pittsburgh Steelers last year to acquire Pickens and a seventh rounder. Pickens repaid the Cowboys with his first Pro Bowl season as an NFL player. He played all 17 games and caught 93 passes for 1429 receiving yards, plus nine touchdowns. He instantly showed chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott earned trust from head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the coaching staff. The Cowboys have publicly stated that they want Pickens back and they will do everything possible to ensure he returns to Texas. That’s why the Cowboys – who have +3500 odds at Caesars Sportsbook to win Super Bowl 612 in February 2027 – are the overwhelming favorite on our board to retain Pickens.

New England Patriots (+1000)

If Pickens leaves the Cowboys, then the New England Patriots would be a great fit for him. The Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, but they were blown out by the Seattle Seahawks and figure to bring in some WR reinforcements this offseason. Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins played well for the Patriots, but Pickens would be a massive upgrade over both of them.

Carolina Panthers (+2500)

The Carolina Panthers had a solid season as they returned to the playoffs and gave the Los Angeles Rams a run for their money in the Wild Card round. Pickens would give improving QB Bryce Young another elite receiver to catch passes. Though Carolina won the NFC South this season, the Panthers are the longest shot on the board at DraftKings Sportsbook to take the division title in the 2026-27 season, at +425 odds.

New York Giants (+3500)

The New York Giants have a new head coach, longtime Ravens leader John Harbaugh. He is very familiar with Pickens after watching him from across the field for several seasons when the receiver played for the Steelers. If Pickens hits free agency, he would become a terrific target for Giants QB Jaxson Dart, especially after Malik Nabers tore his ACL and missed most of last season.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+4000)

Pittsburgh was Pickens’ home for his first three NFL seasons before the Steelers traded him to the Cowboys. The Steelers going through a new phase after long-time head coach Mike Tomlin left the team, leading Pittsburgh to hire Mike McCarthy as head coach. So Pittsburgh could consider bringing Pickens back and pairing him up DK Metcalf as an elite WR duo. Customers using the BetMGM bonus code can get +450 odds on the Steelers to repeat as AFC North champions.

The Field (any other team) (+6600)

Pickens is one of the best wide receivers in football, so in the event he does become available, most teams seeking a new wideout should at least inquire about him.
