As the NFL’s postseason gets underway this weekend, it’s never too early for the teams that missed out on the league’s second season to get a jump start on free agency.

That’s exactly what the team at Bookies.com did regarding Dallas Cowboys wideout George Pickens, as part of our NFL betting analysis. Pickens is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after hauling in 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns (all career highs) during his first year with the NFC East club.

Who Signs George Pickens This Offseason?

The Cowboys rank 30th leaguewide in salary cap space, per OverTheCap.com (in fact, the site projects them at more than $40 million over the cap for 2026 right now), but we still think a return to the Lone Star State is most likely in Pickens’ future.

On our board, the Cowboys hold commanding odds of keeping Pickens in town for 2026 (at least). We rate his return to Dallas at a 73.3% implied probability, which would equal -275 odds if it were offered as a prop wager with US sportsbooks.

That ranks well ahead of the next closest contender, the New England Patriots, at +1750 odds.

Given Pickens’ market value of $30.6 million per year, per Spotrac.com, it seems like his free agent market could be slim. Teams might be scared away by the fourth-year receiver’s ongoing off-the-field issues.

Who Else Could Land George Pickens?

Pickens has 4,270 yards and 21 touchdown catches in 65 career games over three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and one with the Cowboys. With that kind of production, NFL teams are bound to take a swing at landing Pickens this offseason, although his current employer looks like the safest bet.

Should Dallas and New England whiff, keep an eye on other wideout-needy teams such as the Buffalo Bills (+2000), Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens (+3000 each), Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers (+3500 each). Of those teams, the Bills and 49ers are in the playoffs this weekend; Buffalo has +1000 odds to win the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook and San Francisco is at +3000.

One thing is clear: Pickens will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in 2026, coming off a career year that saw him hit career highs with 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His stats have helped him stay on the field in spite of ongoing questions about his attitude and effort level.

Given Pickens’ place on the NFL’s receiving yardage list (third in 2025-26 leaguewide behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seahawks and Puka Nacua of the Rams), some general manager is bound to take a swing at landing the 24-year-old Pickens if Dallas declines to retain him.

At DraftKings Sportsbook, there are 2026 NFL Draft props available.
