Running back Kenneth Walker III just won the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award for the Seattle Seahawks after he put up massive statistics in a Super Bowl 60 blowout win over the New England Patriots. But Walker might still reach free agency. Reports have suggested the Seahawks could pass on putting the franchise tag on Walker, which could lead him to free agency.

Seattle Seahawks (+250)

The Seahawks drafted Walker in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. Walker has performed admirably since, culminating with winning the Super Bowl MVP award on Feb. 8. He has 3,555 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns in four seasons in Seattle, plus 1,005 yards and two TDs receiving. The Seahawks want Walker back, but they reportedly don’t want to use the franchise tag on him because of the price. Still, they could work out a long-term deal with him. On paper, Walker’s return to Seattle makes the most sense of any team in the league. At BetMGM Sportsbook, the Seahawks are favored at +800 odds (as of Feb. 17) to repeat as NFL champions. Houston Texans (+600)

The Houston Texans will likely be in the market for a new running back. Nick Chubb is coming off of a down year and Joe Mixon missed the season with an injury. Walker will be the best running back on the free-agent market if he makes it there, so the Texans are a natural fit.

Denver Broncos (+800)

The Denver Broncos have RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins at running back, but Walker is better than both of them. After a disappointing playoff run, the Broncos will want to upgrade their team and signing someone like Walker would be huge for them.

Los Angeles Chargers (+900)

The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Omarion Hampton in the first round last year, but he was banged up for much of his rookie season. Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is the new offensive coordinator for the the Chargers, so they could move to bring in Walker. The veteran running back would instantly elevate the Chargers’ offensive schemes with McDaniel calling the plays. At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chargers have +175 odds to win the AFC West in the 2026-27 season, just a hair behind the Kansas City Chiefs (+170).

Chicago Bears (+1100)

The Chicago Bears have David Montgomery and D’Andre Swift at running back, but there have been rumors that the team might make a change at the position. If that’s the case, and if Walker becomes available, then he would be a huge addition to a Bears team gunning for the Super Bowl.

Las Vegas Raiders (+1200)

The Las Vegas Raiders drafted Ashton Jeanty last year, and he had a solid rookie season. But new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak, the former offensive coordinator of the Seahawks, has a previous relationship with Walker. Don’t count out the Raiders from making a move here.

Miami Dolphins (+1400)

The Miami Dolphins already have De’Von Achane installed as the team’s top running back. But if they want to have a dual threat, then signing someone like Walker would be huge.
