Kirill Kaprizov, the star winger from the Minnesota Wild, may soon be on the move. The NHL star reportedly turned down a blockbuster eight-year, $128 million contract from the Wild, which would have made him the highest-paid player in NHL history by both AAV and total dollars.
While Kaprizov is still under contract with Minnesota for another year, the team could opt to move him if they feel like he won’t re-sign with the team, and if another hockey club gives them a trade offer they can’t refuse. With Kaprizov’s future with the Wild up in the air, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical betting odds for what his 2025-2026 team could be. If they were able to land Kaprizov in a trade, it could be what the Blackhawks need to make it back to the playoffs.

Kaprizov was drafted by the Wild in 2015, and he has spent all five of his seasons in the NHL with the team, scoring 386 points in 319 games.
