One of the top home-run sluggers in MLB, Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber, is a free agent this offseason, and he is expected to command a huge contract after he slugged 56 home runs for the Phillies and 187 homers total during his four seasons with the team. With Schwarber about to get a huge deal, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical betting odds for where the big bopper will end up next year and beyond.

Philadelphia Phillies (+250)

The Philadelphia Phillies have been Schwarber’s home team for the past four seasons, and both the player and team have had plenty of success during their relationship together. The Phillies are one of the top spenders in MLB, so money isn’t an object. With the Phillies in need of Schwarber’s power threat, the odds are that he will return to his former team next year.

New York Mets (+400)

The New York Mets missed the playoffs last season, and owner Steve Cohen is sure to spend big money in free agency this offseason to make sure that doesn’t happen again. With the need for another power threat to complement superstar Juan Soto, and with first baseman Pete Alonso potentially leaving in free agency, the Mets could surely use Schwarber’s big bat in their lineup. Plus, adding Schwarber would benefit the Mets by hurting their division rival, the Phillies, if the Mets end up getting him instead.

Texas Rangers (+550)

The Texas Rangers missed the playoffs this season, and the team is going to want to make a big splash in free agency to get back to the postseason. Adding a big slugger like Schwarber would help strengthen the Rangers at the DH position, as the team barely got any value out of Joc Pederson last year, as Pederson was one of the worst free-agent signings last season.

Boston Red Sox (+650)

The Boston Red Sox made the playoffs this season, but were bounced in the Wild Card round by the New York Yankees. To get back to the playoffs, they need another big hitter, and Schwarber – who played for the Red Sox in 2021 – would certainly qualify as a big bat.

Detroit Tigers (+800)

The Detroit Tigers made the playoffs this year, but they were eliminated in the ALDS by the Seattle Mariners. The team needs more power in their lineup, and Schwarber would provide it. 

Chicago Cubs (+850)

The Chicago Cubs were Schwarber’s home from 2015 to 2020, and he won the World Series there in 2016. The Cubs are one of the best teams in baseball, but to make a World Series run this year, they need to make improvements, and adding Schwarber to their lineup would qualify.

San Francisco Giants (+1000)
