The biggest MLB free agent this offseason is Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker, who is one of the best hitters in baseball. Tucker is expected to draw a massive contract, perhaps over $500 million overall, and his free agency will be closely monitored by all fans of the sport.

Fans of other teams would hate to see it, but you know that Dodgers fans would love to pair Tucker with their superstars like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman. At this point, the Dodgers have to be considered the odds-on favorite to land Tucker as a free agent.

New York Mets (+375)

The New York Mets were by far the biggest disappointment in baseball last season, as the team had the second-highest payroll yet failed to make the playoffs. That means changes are coming, and owner Steve Cohen has deep pockets. Last year, the Mets signed outfielder Juan Soto to the biggest contract in MLB history, giving him a 15-year, $765 million deal. The Mets will want to pair Tucker with Soto in their outfield for the next decade-plus, and they figure to be one of the frontrunners to land the big bopper in free agency.

Chicago Cubs (+400)

The Chicago Cubs traded several players and prospects last winter to acquire Tucker, knowing he was a one-year rental. Tucker had a solid year at the plate for the Cubs, though he did suffer through some injuries that didn’t let him live up to his true potential. While Tucker will test free agency, the Cubs will surely make an effort to bring him back to the team, given his big bat.

Philadelphia Phillies (+600)

The Philadelphia Phillies were bounced by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, and they now head to free agency looking to improve their aging squad. The Phillies are talented, but many of their players are older, so they don’t have time on their side. That’s why signing a younger free agent such as Tucker, who is on the right side of 30, makes a ton of sense for the Phillies. Plus, the team has deep pockets and has never shied away from spending money in free agency.

Boston Red Sox (+900)

The Boston Red Sox lost to the New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card round this year. It was a bitter end to the season for the Red Sox, and you know they will be making some changes. That could mean acquiring a big slugger to fit in the middle of their batting order, and Tucker surely fits the bill. Plus, the Red Sox have the money to spend to make this happen.

New York Yankees (+900)

The New York Yankees lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS this year, so the team is going to make some changes this offseason. With outfielders Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham both free agents to be, the Yankees have a hole to fill in the outfield, and Tucker could fill it. Plus, you know that the Yankees have the money to spend to make this happen.

San Francisco Giants (+1000)

The San Francisco Giants missed the playoffs last season, and GM Buster Posey has promised changes. The Giants could use another big bat and will surely give Tucker’s agent a phone call. The Giants are a big-market team and should not be afraid to spend the money to get Tucker.

The Field (+1200)

Tucker is the top free agent in baseball this offseason, so the field is a viable option here, as any team needing outfielders will at least call his representation to check in on the prized outfielder. The price will no doubt be high, but any team needing a big bat should at least check in on him.
