The MotoGP heads to Santiago del Estero in Argentina for the next race this season. Current odds show Marc Marquez as the favorite entering the Argentina GP on Sunday.

This is only the sixth year in which the Argentina GP has been held at the current venue, with no rider dominating in those years.

Marquez, however, is the only active driver with two wins at the MotoGP (500cc) level. Both of Marquez’s wins have come in the last five years. That's definitely something for fans to take into account.

Both Valentino Rossi and Johann Zarco also have two wins in Argentina, but at least one of those wins came at the Moto2 (250cc) level.

A Battle of Marquez vs. Dovizioso

Not only does Marquez enter Argentina as the odds-on favorite at -112 with 888Sport, but Marquez is also still favored to win the World Championship at -225.

Despite losing a very close race in Qatar, oddsmakers still feel very comfortable taking Marquez as the best rider in 2019.

Marquez fell short to Andrea Dovizioso in Qatar by only .023 seconds. There were actually four lead changes on the final lap between both Dovizioso and Marquez.

For Dovizioso to compete with Marquez all season long, he will more than likely need to reach the podium in Argentina. His current odds sit at +400.

Dovizioso has never won in Argentina, and there is a slew of other riders that have won this race.

Other Riders Have Proven Themselves

As mentioned earlier, legend Rossi and newbie Zarco have won the Argentina GP at some level. Rossi’s odds to win are currently set at +800 while Zarco has great value at +50000.

Maverick Vinales and Cal Crutchlow are two names to keep an eye on in this race, as both have won Argentina GP’s in the past. Vinales’ came in 2017 while Crutchlow’s came last year.

Vinales’ odds to win are currently set at +400.

Crutchlow’s odds to win this weekend should be better than advertised, considering he is the defending champion here.

What makes Crutchlow such an intriguing play, besides winning last year, is that he performed very well in Qatar.

Crutchlow finished in third place behind Dovizioso and Marquez, competing very well against the sport’s current top two riders.

Going back to end the 2018 season in Japan, Crutchlow has now seen the podium in two straight races.

His current odds to win in Argentina for a second-straight year currently sit at (+1400).

Last year, Crutchlow became the first British rider ever to win a MotoGP race in Argentina.

Current MotoGP World Title Odds

Driver Odds
Marquez –225
Dovisioso +275
Vinales +700
Rossi +1400
Lorenzo +1600
Petrucci +1800
Crutchlow +2500
