The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs take the 2026 NBA Finals back to the Frost Bank Center Saturday. The Knicks stand one win away from their first NBA championship since 1973 after completing the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history Wednesday night. New York's 107-106 win came after the Knicks trailed by as many as 29 points in the third quarter.

The Knicks lead the best-of-seven series 3-1.

The Spurs captured the West with an instant-classic seven-game series win over the defending NBA champion OKC Thunder. The Knicks, meanwhile, enjoyed a cakewalk in the East to their first NBA Finals appearance since they lost to the Spurs in 1999. Our NBA Finals Betting Guide will track all the action and offer updated odds, picks and analysis.

Oddsmakers and prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket set the Spurs as significant favorites to win their sixth NBA title before the series. DraftKings installed the Spurs as -205 favorites. That translates to a 67.2% chance of winning. The price is slightly lower on Kalshi, where the Spurs carry a 65% chance to win. That would translate to -186 odds at a sportsbook.

After Game 1, the Knicks surged to 54% to win the Finals on Kalshi's Pro Basketball Championship market. More than $258.6 million has been traded there since it opened last July.

Led by 22-year-old phenom Wembanyama, the Spurs will attempt to replicate they dynasty that won titles in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 - in addition to 2014.

The Knicks last won a championship during President Nixon's second term. The 1973 Knicks played with five future Hall of Famers in their starting lineup - Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Bill Bradley, and Earl Monroe - in addition to Phil Jackson on the bench. The 2026 Knicks lack a full starting lineup headed to the Hall of Fame. It does contain three former Villanova teammates - Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart - along with Karl Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby.

NBA Finals Betting Guide - Knicks Vs. Spurs Matchup

What The Oddsmakers Say Heading Into The Series:

Johnny Avello, Director of Sports Operations, DraftKings:

This is one of the most exciting NBA Finals matchups we've seen in recent memory. The Knicks are back for the first time since 1999 and are playing some outstanding basketball, while the Spurs have reached this stage remarkably quickly behind one of the league's brightest young stars and a team that continues to develop at an incredible pace. Early betting action has been on the Knicks to win both Game 1 and the series, but interest has been robust across the board. Between the Knicks' long-awaited return to the Finals and the Spurs' rapid rise, along with the star power on both sides, there are no shortage of compelling storylines. We expect tremendous excitement and engagement throughout the series.

Adam Bjorn, CEO Plannatech US (owners of Prime Sportsbook & Betcris Arizona)

For Game 1, we're looking about 82% of the point-spread money is on the Knicks. On the money line, it's about 84% on the Spurs, but there's not a lot of volume compared to the spread. On the series, we've got about 68% of the money on the Spurs. Based on the prices, that's about where it should be.
However, on the sharp money, about 73% of that is on the Knicks. Our overall money is heavy on the Spurs, but the sharp money is around +170 to +173 on the Knicks to win the series. So the Knicks are the sharp play, at the moment, of course.

The Spurs roster - surprisingly - outranks the Knicks’ in Finals appearances.

  • Golden Spurs: Harrison Barnes (13 games, Golden State), Kelly Olynyk (5 games, Miami), and Luke Kornet (6 games, Boston) own 24 games of Finals experience for San Antonio
  • Tested Knicks : Mikal Bridges (6 games, Phoenix) and Jordan Clarkson (2 games, Cleveland) have wisdom from eight combined Finals games.
  • Youth Movement: San Antonio (25.06 years old) is the second-youngest team to reach the Finals in the shot clock era, based on average age and weighted by postseason playing time.

NBA Finals Betting Guide - Knicks Vs. Spurs How They Got Here

How The Knicks Got Here

The analytics tell the story before a word is written. New York leads all remaining playoff teams in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, assists, and defensive rating (103.5) — a four-category sweep that almost never happens simultaneously. And bettors have noticed: the Knicks are an NBA-best 11-3 ATS this postseason, covering by an average of 23.8 points per game across 11 straight wins. The path drew scrutiny — two fringe opponents, then a Cleveland team already 14 games deep — but the efficiency metrics don't discriminate by opponent quality. This team is legitimately humming.

Knicks’ path: Beat No. 6 Atlanta, 4-2; beat No. 7 Philadelphia, 4-0; beat No. 4 Cleveland, 4-0

How The Spurs Got Here

San Antonio's 62-20 regular season looked dominant on paper, but the ATS ledger told a more complicated story — 45-34-2 against the spread, with a home-favorite cover rate of just 26-20-1 (+1.1 ATS margin). The playoffs forced a recalibration. Wembanyama had to physically assert himself against Oklahoma City's size and scheme. The guards had to solve Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's foul-baiting without getting picked apart defensively. They went 12-6 ATS in the postseason — the best mark in the West — and closed Game 7 by 27 points, the largest elimination-game margin in franchise history. They earned this.

Spurs’ path: Beat No. 7 Portland, 4-1; beat No. 6 Minnesota, 4-2; beat No. 1 Oklahoma City, 4-3
