Carolina got declawed in a 30-point beatdown at Tampa Bay, while Green Bay fell just short against the Lions. The model has the Packers winning by 3.4, but three of their results this season have been decided by exactly 3 points — the Panthers are better than last week's score suggests and have played well on the road, with Bryce Young due to get his groove back.

Tyler Huntley's Ravens were no match for Joe Burrow and Cincinnati. Buffalo comes home off the bye riding Josh Allen's MVP-caliber season, but this line suggests oddsmakers expect Lamar Jackson back — even a "restricted" Jackson plus a heavy dose of Derrick Henry against a run defense that allows 101 yards a game should keep this one close enough for the backdoor cover.

The 1-6 Titans lost on a last-second field goal to Cleveland, keeping pace near the top of the draft order. Joe Burrow and Cincinnati held their groove with 4 TD passes in a 35-13 rout of Baltimore, giving him 15 scoring passes against just 4 picks on the season. Tennessee's defense can keep it from getting ugly, but the offense likely won't crack double digits.

Minnesota is the NFC's lone unbeaten team behind Kyler Murray, while Detroit nabbed a referee-aided, last-second field goal win over Green Bay. The Lions' leaky defense (27.5 points a game) gets a stiff test against a Vikings offense facing a unit that allows just 12.3 points a game. This one sits right on 3 and has a last-second-kick feel to it.

Arizona got trampled 30-16 at home by Denver and has now lost 10 straight home games dating back to last September, with just one red-zone touchdown in its last 11 trips inside the 20. Dallas, fresh off a short week following Monday night, should have no trouble handling the Cardinals at home.

New York dropped a tough one to Miami, but oddsmakers still favor the Jets slightly at home with Las Vegas in freefall after a 3-0 start — four straight losses, including letting the Rams erase a 28-6 halftime deficit. The Jets are a solid 4-3 against the spread this season. Let it ride.

Both teams sit 5-2 and tied atop the AFC North. Pittsburgh escaped Paris with a win over New Orleans, while Cleveland's Deshaun Watson led another fourth-quarter winning drive against Tennessee. Cleveland already beat Pittsburgh once this season by exactly 3 points — four of its five wins have come by that same margin. Expect another tight, low-scoring game — take the points.

Both teams pulled off stunning upsets last week — Atlanta knocked off the previously unbeaten 49ers, while Tampa Bay ran for 258 yards in a 43-13 blowout of Carolina with a limited but healthy Baker Mayfield back. The Bucs look to carry that momentum into their traditional battle with Atlanta at Raymond James.

Jacksonville comes off its bye for its first home game since crushing New England in September. The 2-5 Colts have dropped three straight, averaging just 17.3 points in those losses and searching for a GM to boot. Jacksonville's defense has been leaky lately, and Daniel Jones is always a pass away from disaster — the hook is too much, so take the under instead.

These two share the distinction of the stadium's two worst teams this year. The winless Chargers come off the bye at 0-6 and average just 15 points a game. Matthew Stafford and a gaining-traction Rams offense could put up that much in the first quarter alone.

An AFC West showdown and potential playoff preview. Kansas City got smothered 20-3 by Seattle, with Kenneth Walker III held to 36 yards and Mahomes pressured on 53% of dropbacks while missing two starting tackles. Denver's Bo Nix and a mirror-image defense had 3 sacks and 13 QB hits in a win over Arizona, with Nik Bonitto posting a career-high 13 pressures.

New England comes off a mini-bye after a Thursday night loss at Chicago, and Miami's stadium has historically been a house of horrors for the Patriots. Drake Maye played well despite an end zone pick, but the Patriots' defense couldn't stop anyone — a 10-day layoff should help on that front, but the over looks like the play given both teams' weaknesses.

A potential NFC Championship preview. Seattle's defense just smothered Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker III, and should bring a similar game plan to contain Caleb Williams. Chicago holds the edge against the spread this season — if Williams can stretch the field like he did against New England, the Seahawks could find themselves in an uncomfortable track meet. Either way, take the points.

Week 7 NFL Best Bets: Game-By-Game Breakdown

Week 7
Monday, October 26
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles, 8:15 p.m. (ABC/ESPN)

Buzz: Dysfunction Meets Malfunction Monday night at the Linc. Eagles fans will show up just to boo both teams for 3+ hours. Dallas no-showed Sunday night at Green Bay, trailing 17-0 at the half before tapping out the rest of the way. The Eagles lost QB Jalen Hurts for the season due to blood clot issues. His loss was the final blow to an offense that had been decimated by injuries all season. Nick Sirianni’s Hot Seat is fully engulfed. The Cowboys win this one by default.

Best Bet: Cowboys -4.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Week 8
Thursday, October 29
Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers — 8:15 p.m. (Prime)

Buzz: The Carolina Panthers got declawed in a 30-point beatdown at the hands of Tampa Bay Sunday. The Green Bay Packers, meanwhile, fell short against the refs and the Lions. Our model has Green Bay winning by 3.4 points. However, the Packers have already had games decided by exactly 3 points (20-17 in overtime over the Jets, 17-14 at Tampa Bay and the 20-17 loss at Detroit). The Packers keep it close. The Panthers are much better than their 43-13 loss Sunday and have played well on the road. Bryce Young gets his groove back here.

Best Bet: Panthers +3.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Sunday, November 1
Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills -1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Tyler Huntley-led Ravens were no match for Joe Burrow and the Bengals Sunday. The Bills, meanwhile, come home off the bye and a Week 6 win over Las Vegas. Josh Allen continues his track toward a potential MVP season for Buffalo (5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS). Ravens QB Lamar Jackson’s uncertain status looms here. This number indicates oddsmakers expect Jackson back here. The Bills allow 28.5 points and 386.8 yards of offense each week. A “restricted” Jackson and lots of Derrick Henry (the Bills allow 101 yards rushing per game) keep this one close. “Captain Hook” comes through for the backdoor cover.

Best Bet: Ravens +3.5 (-118) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals — 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The 1-6 Titans lost on a last-second field goal to the Browns to keep pace in the Jeremiah Smith Sweepstakes. If the season ended today, the Titans would be choosing second, behind the still-winless Chargers. Joe Burrow's Bengals held their groove Sunday in a 35-13 rout of Baltimore. Burrow threw for 4 TDs in the win and has 15 scoring passes against just 4 picks. The Titans' defense can keep this one from becoming a blowout, but its offense might not muster double-digits in scoring.

Best Bet: Under 47.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions — 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Tom Brady returns to Ford Field for the second straight week for Fox to call the Vikings-Lions game. The Vikings, led by QB Kyler Murray, emerged from Week 7 as the lone unbeaten team in the NFC. The Lions nabbed a referee-aided 20-17, last-second-field-goal, win over Green Bay. The Lions’ toothless defense (27.5 points per game) will be pushed by the Vikings. Meanwhile, Minnesota cedes just 12.3 points per game, will pressure Jared Goff, and happily allow the Lions to run into its front seven. This line is a bit odd as it sits right on 3 points. But take them as this one has “last-second-kick” written all over it.

Best Bet: Vikings +3 (-108) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys — 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Cowboys played Monday night at Philadelphia. Arizona got trampled 30-16 in Glendale by the Denver Broncos Sunday. Thankfully for the Cardinals, they’re back on the road this week. Arizona has lost 10 straight home games, a span that goes all the way back to last September. The Cardinals are allergic to red zone touchdowns, having scored just one TD in their past 11 trips inside the 20. And they’ve lost by 12 or more points four times. The short week should not be an issue for Dallas at home.

Best Bet: Cowboys -6.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets — 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Jets made the Dolphins winners for the first time this season, losing 28-25 at MetLife. Oddsmakers favor Gang Green slightly at home because the even-more-inept Raiders are in a tailspin of their own. Las Vegas started 3-0 before dropping four straight. The Raiders enabled the Rams to break a two-game losing streak in falling behind 28-6 at the half. Las Vegas heads east for a 1 p.m. kickoff. (Ask the 49ers how that worked for them Sunday in Atlanta.) The Jets are a solid 4-3 on the line this season. Let it ride. The real disappointment in Florham Park and East Rutherford comes after Thanksgiving.

Best Bet: Jets ML (-118) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers — 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Both teams are 5-2 and tied atop the AFC North. Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers escaped from Paris in one piece with a 16-10 victory over New Orleans. Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson led another winning drive in the fourth quarter Sunday as the Browns beat the Titans with a last-second field goal. Cleveland beat Pittsburgh 27-24 on October 1, and thus owns the temporary tiebreaker. Four of its five wins have come by exactly 3 points. Both defenses are stout. But both will be tested, by either Rodgers’ guile and skill, or Watson’s run of hot luck. And in a likely low-scoring, tight game such as this, take the points when you’re getting more than a field goal.

Best Bet: Browns +3.5 (-104) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers — 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Both teams pulled off stunning underdog upsets Sunday. The Falcons (+2.5) dispatched the previously unbeaten and jet-lagged 49ers handily, 29-20, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Buccaneers’ Pirate Ship sailed into Carolina as 3-point underdogs and fired the cannons all over Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium in a 43-13 drubbing. A healthy but limited Baker Mayfield returned for Tampa Bay. Something gives here. The Falcons come off a playoff-like win over San Francisco at home. They traditionally play the Bucs right at Raymond James. But Tampa Bay ran 49 times for 258 yards against Carolina and will look to do the same, with a bit more Baker, this week.

Best Bet: Buccaneers ML (-124) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars — 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Jaguars come off their bye and play their first game in Duval County since crushing the Patriots 35-6 on September 27. The 2-5 Colts have dropped three straight, averaging just 17.3 points per loss. They’re also looking for a general manager. This number is a bit steep, however, given that Jacksonville is just 2-2 ATS as a favorite. Jacksonville’s defense somehow allowed 426 yards in its 34-31 loss to Houston in London two weeks ago. The Colts won’t be able to replicate those numbers at Jacksonville. And QB Daniel Jones is always one pass away from his next calamity. Still, the hook here is too much. Instead, take the under.

Best Bet: Under 46.5 Points (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams — 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Usually, the Jets and Giants are a lock to own the distinction of the two worst NFL teams to share the same stadium. But this year, the Chargers and Rams own that distinction. The winless Chargers enter Week 8 coming off the bye at 0-6/0-5-1 ATS. Once upon a time, the Rams were touted as a potential 20-0 team. Now, they’re trying to get back into contention at 3-4. There’s no reason to believe the Chargers turn things around this week “at home” because the Rams and Matthew Stafford are gaining traction with a balanced offense. The Chargers average just 15 points per game. The Rams may put up that number in the first quarter.

Best Bet: Rams -7 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos — 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt make the call from the Mile High City in an AFC West showdown and potential playoff preview. The Chiefs got smothered by the Super Bowl champs Sunday night, losing 20-3 at Seattle. This time, it was Patrick Mahomes (not Sam Darnold) who was seeing ghosts. The Seahawks stuffed their former teammate Kenneth Walker III. holding him to just 36 yards on 14 carries. The Broncos and Bo Nix showed some flash Sunday in Denver's 30-16 win over Arizona. It's defense mirrors Seattle's. Seattle pressured Mahomes on 53% of dropbacks, and the Chiefs were without tackles Josh Simmons and Jaylon Moore. Denver had 3 sacks and 13 QB hits against Arizona, and Nik Bonitto had a career-high 13 pressures.

Best Bet: Broncos +1.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins — 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Patriots come off the mini-bye and a Thursday night loss at Chicago. Hard Rock Stadium often serves as a house of horrors for the Patriots, even more fitting this Halloween weekend. The Dolphins nabbed their first victory of the season Sunday, over the Jets (of course). Drake Maye (his end zone pick notwithstanding) played well at Chicago, but the Patriots defense couldn't stop a nosebleed. It should fare better and get some bodies back given the 10-day lay off. Expect the Patriots to win here, but this number is a stretch given their history in Miami. The over is the play here given the weaknesses of both teams.

Best Bet: Over 44.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders — 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The Eagles played the Cowboys Monday night but the Commanders come off the bye. That’s quite a scheduling disparity. Philadelphia’s roster continues to be riddled with injuries, while the team remains mired in dysfunction. Jayden Daniels appears to be fully healthy. The Commanders win here simply by attrition.

Best Bet: Commanders -3.5 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam

Monday, November 2
Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks — 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

Buzz: This will be the final NFL game featuring election ads until 2028. Hopefully. This one has a potential NFC Championship Game vibe to it. The Seahawks come off a resounding 20-3 win over the Chiefs. The Bears get the mini-bye after their Thursday night victory over New England. The Seahawks defense smothered Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker III. Expect a similar game plan against Caleb Williams — keep him in the pocket and under pressure. The Bears do hold the edge against the spread (5-2 vs 3-4). If Williams is able to stretch the field (like he did against New England) and hit his spots, the Seahawks will find themselves trying to keep pace on offense, which they can’t do in a higher-scoring affair. Either way, this one is close. So take the points.

Best Bet: Bears +3 (-110) — FanDuel via OddsJam
