Week 2 of the NFL Betting begins with the debut of the new $2 billion Highmark Stadium as the Bills play host to the Lions on Thursday night.
Both teams posted wins in Week 1. The Bills outlasted the Texans on the road. The Lions averted catastrophe after blowing a 21-point lead by stopping two-point conversion overtime to ice a 31-30 win over the Saints.
Overs hit in 9 of the 12 Sunday games and six of those games totaled 60 or more points. Given the historic shifts between Week 1 and Week 2, one might be tempted to hit the unders equally aggressively this week.
The total on that Thursday night Bills-Lions game opened at 53.5 points Sunday. Thursday night games lean slightly toward the under historically, and the early money leans that way here.
The Bills – new stadium and all – have a “Super Bowl Or Bust” vibe this season. Last year, Josh Allen watched another AFC East quarterback – Drake Maye – make their Super Bowl debut ahead of himself.
Allen clearly ranks among the greatest QBs since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger who has never played in a Super Bowl alongside the likes of Dan Fouts, Philip Rivers and Warren Moon.
The Lions have to re-group after a grueling OT win over New Orleans and then play bridesmaid as the table-smashers celebrate the NFL’s newest digs.
Week 2 Games Of Note: Panic Returns To Dallas
The Fox National Game of The Week features the Cowboys at home against Washington. The Cowboys lost 28-20 to John Harbaugh and the Giants Sunday night. The Commanders came up short at the Linc Sunday when Jayden Daniels decided not to throw the ball to Terry McLaurin or Stefon Diggs on a potential game-tying two-point conversion.
Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt visit Foxboro for the CBS marquee matchup between the Patriots and Steelers. The Colts visit Taylor, Travis and Patrick Sunday night on NBC. The Giants visit the Rams at SoFi Monday night.

Week 2 NFL Best Bets: Game-By-Game Breakdown
Thursday, September 17
Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills, 8:15 p.m. (Prime)
Buzz: Will the Bills shine in the prime-time debut of their new stadium? Both teams come off hard-fought wins on Sunday. The Lions blew a 21-point lead but held on to stop a 2-point conversion in overtime to snag the win. The Bills tore up Houston’s so-called “best defense in the league.” No 36-point effort on a short week here. But we’ll get the Bills to win and cover. Make sure you stick to the 3 here.
Best Bet: Bills -3 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Sunday, September 20
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: The defending NFC South champion Panthers got throttled by Caleb Williams and the Bears 59-37 Sunday. The Falcons might not score 59 points in their first three games. They lost 20-13 at Pittsburgh. The Panthers can score – we saw that on Sunday – and they’ll be able to open things up against the Falcons. This shapes up as a classic “Week 2” bounce-back game for Carolina’s defense.
Best Bet: Panthers +1.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: The “Black and Blue Division” morphed into the “Whoever Scores Last Wins Division.” The Bears rolled up 552 yards and 59 points on the Panthers in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Vikings – behind Carson Wentz for the injured Kyler Murray – ripped off 29 straight points to beat the Packers at home. Murray suffered a concussion Sunday so it’s unlikely he’ll be back in time for this one. Chicago’s defense recovers to keep this one manageable.
Best Bet: Under 48.5 Points (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Philadelphia Eagles at Tennessee Titans, 1 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: The Titans began their run at another No. 1 overall pick with an embarrassing 23-10 to the Jets Sunday. The Eagles outlasted Washington in a back-and-forth-NFC-East affair. Jalen Hurts controls this one with both his arm and his legs. Expect Saquon Barkley to have a strong day on the ground against this Titans front. This number moved from 5.5 on the lookhead line to 7 after Sunday night. That’s still a clean one-score outcome and a safe play.
Best Bet: Eagles -7 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The Drake Maye Bandwagon blew a tire on opening night in a 13-10 loss at Seattle. The third-year Patriots QB played his worst game . . . since New England’s loss to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. The Steelers won’t blow out anyone this season. Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers picked up Sunday in their 20-13 win over the Falcones where they left off in Green Bay years ago. T.J. Watt and the Steelers front could well force Maye into making one too many game-crushing mistakes. Hard to see New England covering this number even if everything clicks for Josh McDaniels offense.
Best Bet: Steelers +5.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: Baker Mayfield (three fumbles) and Bucs bungled their way through a 33-27 loss to the Bengals. Tampa Bay’s defense allowed only two scores off a kickoffs or punts. The Browns – 30-14 losers in Jacksonville Sunday – offer the perfect clean-things-up opportunity for the Bucs. The Browns pulled a brutal back-to-back draw with Week 1 & Week 2 afternoon games in Florida. Bettors and fans often forget to factor early-season weather in the Sunshine State.
Best Bet: Buccaneers -8.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Green Bay at New York Jets, 1 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” For a few precious moments Sunday, the Jets stood alone in first place in the AFC East. Today, they own a share of the best record in the NFL. Behind Breece Hall (102 yards, TD) and Geno Smith, Gang Green handed the Titans with ease. The Packers collapsed in Week 1 at Minneapolis, giving up 29 straight points to the host Vikings in a 39-22 loss. The Jets defensive pressure could well swing this game, in addition to their running game. Take the points and hang on for the upset.
Best Bet: Jets +4.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: A coin-flip that could come down to the final possession. The one big surprise in Week 1 came in the form of Cincinnati’s ferocious defense. Meanwhile, the Texans couldn’t stop a nose bleed in their 36-31 loss to the Bills. A defense that keeps the Bengals in these sorts of games might be just what Joe Burrow needs to get back to the Super Bowl.
Best Bet: Bengals +2.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The Saints emptied the tank Sunday in a gut-wrenching 31-30 overtime loss at Detroit. Tyler Shough threw for 410 yards and tossed 3 TDs and 2 picks as New Orleans erased a 21-point deficit, only to fall short on a 2-point try in overtime. The Ravens rolled the Colts at Indy 41-23. Lamar Jackson (325 yards passing) and Derrick Henry (144 yards rushing, 3 TDs) were in MVP form. But 8.5 points is mispriced for Week 2 given the strengths on defense.
Best Bet: Saints +8.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The Broncos open on the road at Kansas City Monday night. This game has “Week 2 Letdown” feels for Denver. The Jaguars were an AFC best 12-6 ATS last season and look to be slightly undervalued here. But the play here is the under, even at this total, due to both the Denver letdown factor and an East Coast visitor playing at altitude.
Best Bet: Under 43.5 Points (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Via @CircaMaestro on the Chargers loss to Cardinals impact on @CircaSports contests: “Between Survivor and Grandisimo, $10.3M lost on Chargers - the most on any single pick in contest history.”
— Dustin Swedelson (@dustinswedelson) September 14, 2026
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: Usually, the Chargers wait until January to collapse. They beat the rush this year. The Bolts short-circuited millions of survivor pools in Week 1 thanks to an embarrassing 26-14 home loss to the Cardinals in Mike LaFleur’s head coaching debut. According to Circa’s Mike Palm, $10.3 million was lost by people who picked the Chargers in that book’s Survivor and Grandisimo contests. The Raiders got their win out of the way early in a scrimmage against Miami. The Bolts bounce back this week. Maybe . . . But not at this number.
Best Bet: Raiders +7 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: Tom Brady makes the call from Jerry World in the Fox National Game Of The Week. The Cowboys entered full panic mode Sunday night after their 28-20 loss to the well-balanced Giants. Washington came up short on thanks to a poorly executed 2-point try that would have tied the game. Neither Stefon Diggs nor Terry McLaurin touched the ball on that play. Dallas would be teetering on disaster with back-to-back NFC East losses to start the season. We’re here for it. Or at least a Commanders cover.
Best Bet: Commanders +3.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals, 4:25 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: The NFL champs resumed Super Bowl 60 with a 13-10 win over New England in Week 1. Drew Lock leads the Seahawks, who didn’t miss a step in replacing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker with rookie running back Jadarian Price (10 carries, 52 yards). The Cardinals shocked the world and decimated survivor pools from coast-to-coast with a stunning 26-14 win over the host Chargers. Seattle’s defense
Best Bet: Seahawks -4.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers, 4:25 p.m. (Fox)
Buzz: The Dolphins pulled back-to-back Pacific Time Zone games to start the season. The Malik Willis Error kicked off with a 27-13 loss to the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. The 49ers dominated the Rams in Week 1 down under. The 49ers should be over all that jet-lag by kickoff. A fully-healthy 49ers roster could pose a threat to all comers in the NFC. A 12.5-point line in Week 2 is rare. The Niners could well be the most complete team in the NFL. It’s not hard to envision a two-score victory here. Especially against a Dolphins team in full gut-job mode.
Best Bet: 49ers -12.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:30 p.m. (NBC)
Buzz: Taylor, Travis and Patrick opened their season Monday night against the Denver Broncos. Indianapolis, meanwhile, had no answers on defense for Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and the Ravens Sunday. The Colts won't be able to crack the code when it comes to stoppng a healthy Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead, either. Offensively, Daniel Jones remains Daniel Jones until further notice. Jonathan Taylor can’t carry this team by himself. Lock this one in before it moves north of touchdown.
Best Bet: Chiefs -6.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Monday, September 21
New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: The Rams got kangarooed 27-7 by the 49ers their opener Down Under and lost DE Myles Garrett to injury and knee surgery. He’ll be out at least 4 weeks. John Harbaugh’s Big Blue reign began with a not-as-close-as-the-final-score showed 28-20 win over the Cowboys. This one has that “Week 2 Reverse” feel with both teams reverting to form after surprising Week 1 outcomes. If the Rams can get rolling, they’ll cover this one-score line. But avoid the hook at all costs.
Best Bet: Rams -7 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
