NFL Week 4 Best Bets: Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson Meet Again

Another showdown between Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson highlights our NFL Week 4 Best Bets.
This is the final week with a full NFL odds schedule until Thanksgiving, thanks to the bye.
Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens lost their openers. The teams continue to face questions about their defense, even though they’re led by 2 of the top QBs in the game.
They meet at Arrowhead Stadium in the CBS national 4:25 p.m. time slot with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo making the call. Mahomes and Jackson could well find their groove in a game that screams over the final points total listed at the best sports betting sites, no matter how absurdly high it ends up being.

NFL Week 4 Best Bets See Tom Brady Back In Tampa Bay
The NFL Week 4 Best Bets Monday Night Football nightcap offers a sneaky good AFC showdown in our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. Jake Browning and the Bengals clash with our-defense-needs-to-carry-us Denver Broncos.
Elsewhere, the NFL Week 4 Best Bets schedule begins Thursday night with another Amazon Prime snoozer between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. We’d like to see Pete (Kirk Herbstreit's dog) on the call for the second half.
The NFL resumes its overseas schedule with a 9:30 a.m. EST Sunday kickoff in Dublin, Ireland. The Steelers face the Minnesota Vikings as the “home” team on the Emerald Isle.
Seven games occupy the 1 p.m. EST Sunday timeslot in our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. Tom Brady makes his return to Tampa Bay to call the Eagles-Buccaneers game. Brady scored his final NFL career playoff victory as QB against the Eagles playing for the Bucs after the 2021 season.
Brady led the Bucs to their second Super Bowl trophy and his 7th during the 2020 season.
Sunday night, Green Bay visits Dallas. The early Monday night game sends the Jets to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Dolphins, which you can wager on at the best sports betting apps.

NFL Week 4 Best Bets: Game-By-Game Breakdown
Thursday, Sept 25
Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals, 8:15 p.m. (Amazon Prime)
Buzz: Only Kirk Herbstreit's dog Pete can save this one. A dog to begin our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. Sam Darnold continues to amaze in the Emerald City in the same way he wowed fans in Minnesota last season.
Pick: Seahawks +1.5 (-118) DraftKings via OddsJam

Sunday, Sept. 28
Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 9:30 a.m. (NFL Network)
at Dublin, Ireland
Buzz: Aaron Rodgers hits the Emerald Isle to face a familiar foe. He’s won 17 of his previous 30 starts against the Vikings (with one tie). We’ll see if A-Rod and the Steelers offense can be “magically delicious” against Brian Flores’ defense. The Patriots gifted the Steelers the win on Sunday. The Vikings rolled through a depleted Bengals unit Sunday. Neither offense has impressed.
Pick: Under 41.5 Points (-105) DraftKings via OddsJam
Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: QBs Jayden Daniels (Washington) and Michael Penix Jr. were taken in the QB-heavy first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Kirk Cousins replaced Penix Sunday as the Falcons crashed and burned in a 30-0 loss to Carolina. Marcus Mariota effectively filled in for Daniels Sunday in Washington's rout of Las Vegas. The Commanders entered the year with the oldest average roster age in the NFL. That could be a concern later. For now, their front seven control the game here - pressuring Atlanta's QB. Whether it's Cousins or Penix.
Pick: Commanders -2.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
New Orleans Saints at Buffalo Bills 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The largest spread of the season has been laid here in our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. The Bills are three-score favorites (-16.5). No matter the matchup, that number's just too big this early in the season. The Saints entered purgatory in Week 1. By now, they're in the 4th ring of football hell. They've allowed 30 points and averaged 10.3 penalties per game. And it's only going to get worse. The Bills come off the mini-bye, having beaten Miami Thursday (but failing to cover on the 11.5-point line). This one has a 35-0 feel.
Pick: Under 48.5 Points (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Combined, the Browns and Lions haven’t won a championship in 128 years. The Lions keep flirting with a possible Super Bowl berth. The Browns opened the "trap game door" on Green Bay, beating the Packers as 8-point underdogs 13-10 with a field goal at the gun. Don't expect the Lions to fall for the same prank this week, even off a Monday nighter at Baltimore. Especially since record against common opponents is one of many NFL tiebreakers.
Pick: Lions -7.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
Carolina Panthers at New England Patriots, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Drake Maye and the Patriots turned the ball over 5 times in their 21-14 loss to Pittsburgh. New England became the first team since 2013 to end successive possessions with end zone turnovers. Disastrous all the way around. The Panthers flashed their fangs in a 30-0 rout of Atlanta Sunday. Unlike Maye and the Patriots, Bryce Young and the Panthers had no turnovers. Carolina's defense will be gunning for the ball on every play. If the Patriots can keep the ball, they'll transform back from Hyde to Jekyll this week at home.
Pick: Patriots -4.5 (-110) DraftKings via OddsJam
LA Chargers at New York Giants, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: Justin Herbert and Russell Wilson Jaxson Dart. Today's Brady vs. Manning. At least Herbert had lived up to his pre-season hype. Finally. The Bolts began the season 3-0 and 2-0 in the AFC West, banking wins over Kansas City and Denver. This one has "Early East Coast Start" letdown vibes. Big Blue imploded Sunday against the Chiefs. And Wilson couldn't find Malik Nabers until the 4th quarter in a 22-9 loss. Dart gets his first NFL start for Big Blue. LA's solid defense and NY's inept offense push this one under the total. The news of Dart's start added a point to the number in LA's (-6.5) favor.
Pick: Under 45.5 Points (-118) DraftKings via OddsJam
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Tampa Tom makes his homecoming inside the FOX booth to add some juice to our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. He’ll call a game featuring 2 undefeated teams that have met in the postseason twice in the past 4 years. The Bucs won both. Tampa Bay and Philly could well meet again this postseason. The Eagles stunned the Rams and those who bet on LA by erasing a 19-point deficit in their 33-27 win Sunday. The Eagles nabbed the 4.5-point cover as Jordan Davis blocked a field goal attempt that would have won it for LA. He grabbed the ball and rumbled 61 yards for the TD (hitting 19 MPH) with no time left. The greatest cover/bad beat in years. The Bucs defense melted down against the Jets in the 2nd half, blowing a 17-point lead. To. The. Jets. Tampa Bay also survived the Jets blocking a field goal and turning it into a TD in a 29-27 win. But 14 penalties and blowing a 17-point lead won't get the win against the rampaging Super Bowl champs.
Pick: Eagles -2.5 (-120) DraftKings via OddsJam

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans, 1 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The Texans should score an easy win here against their woeful AFC South opponent. The Texans wilted in the Florida heat at Jacksonville Sunday. The Titans got curb-stomped by the Colts. Houston has a much-needed get-right game here. But be wary of any number over 7 points.
Pick: Texans -6.5 (-110) ESPN BET via OddsJam
Indianapolis Colts at LA Rams, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Indiana Jones visits this week’s Temple of Doom. The Rams limp home after an historic collapse at Philly. They blew a 19-point lead and saw a potential game-winning field goal transformed in to an Eagles touchdown that delivered a cover to thousands of delirious Eagles fans at Lincoln Financial Field. The Colts finally punted Sunday in their 41-20 win over Tennessee. They have yet to lose a turnover. Indy's Jonathan Taylor scored 3 TDs Sunday and led the NFL in rushing heading into Monday night's Ravens-Lions game. The Colts are the NFL's lone 3-0 team ATS this season. They face a real defense this week, but still get the cover.
Pick: Colts +4.5 (-110) DraftKings via OddsJam
Jacksonville Jaguars at San Francisco 49ers, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: The Mac Jones Revenge Tour gets a crack at one of his former teams when the 49ers play host to Jacksonville. Mac is 2-0 as Brock Purdy's replacement, leading a come-from-behind drive to win it Sunday for the 3-0 but battered 49ers. The Jaguars are 2-1 thanks to a 9 turnovers on defense. They beat Houston at home Sunday but won't have the Florida heat to help them this week. Hold on tight, CMC.
Pick: 49ers -3 (-110) DraftKings via OddsJam
Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: Park Avenue stacked several of KC’s marquee games early this season. That’s a tell it knew the Mahomes Magic might not continue this season. KC’s 1-2 start may prove it right. The Chiefs are underdogs at home for the second time this season in our NFL Week 4 Best Bets. Still, Mahomes getting 3 points at home? Tough to pass on that one.
Pick: Chiefs +3 (-120) FanDuel via OddsJam
Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: Bears HC Ben Johnson finally found the keys to unleash Caleb Williams in Sunday's 31-14 win over Dallas. Williams threw for 249 yards - in the first half and had his tight ends open all day. The Raiders continue their journey into irrelevance. It doesn't matter if Raiders part-owner and FOX analyst Tom Brady gets the secret code to each opponent. As long as he isn't wearing No. 12 in the Silver and Black, it won't matter.
Pick: Bears +1.5 (-115) DraftKings via OddsJam
Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)
Buzz: The Packers could not unleash their offense in the shadow of the Dawg Pound Sunday. Green Bay (-8.5) lost at Cleveland 13-10 thanks to a field goal at the gun. Green Bay QB Jordan Love gets a crack at the same Dallas defense that yielded 249 yards passing to Chicago's Caleb Williams IN THE FIRST HALF Sunday. A perfect get-right game for the Packers. The Cowboys remain an enigma wrapped in a dilemma surrounded by a burrito.
Pick: Packers -5.5 (-115) DraftKings via OddsJam
Monday, September 29
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins, 7:15 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: Mike McDaniel managed to keep his job after Miami's 31-21 Week 3 loss on Thursday night in Buffalo. The Dolphins get the Jets at home after the mini-bye. This could be McDaniel's final game as Dolphins head coach with a loss.
Pick: Jets +2.5 (-105) DraftKings via OddsJam
Cincinnati at Denver, 8:15 p.m. (ABC)
Buzz: The Bengals and back-up QB Jake Browning suffered the worst loss in the franchises' history Sunday, 48-10 at Minnesota. The Broncos got thrown off their horse at Indy in Week 2 and Sunday against the Chargers. Denver blew leads in both losses. Cincy committed 5 turnovers Sunday in its historic loss. The Broncos am to force a similar result this week, given how poorly Bo Nix & Company have fared on offense thus far in 2025. Someone has to rebound. The Broncos win, but Cincy grabs the back-door cover on this big number.
Pick: Bengals +7.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
