ESPN BET Michigan Promo Code For Fall 2023: Here's Everything You Need to Know

This fall, a brand-new sportsbook will open up for Michigan sports bettors. Well, sort of.

With the demise of Barstool Sportsbook Michigan, ESPN BET Michigan was born. PENN Entertainment, who owned Barstool Sportsbook Michigan, recently sold Barstool back to its founder Dave Portnoy for just $1 dollar. The reason? A 10-year, $1.5 billion licensing deal with ESPN to be the brand name on the new sportsbook.

This fall, ESPN Bet Michigan will launch, giving sports bettors in “The Great Lakes State” a world-class, state-of-the-art sportsbook to use to wager on sports. Although ESPN BET Michigan has not yet launched, it will be doing so hopefully by Thanksgiving, meaning it won’t be long until customers can wager at ESPN BET Michigan.

What To Know About ESPN Bet Michigan

ESPN BET Michigan has yet to launch, but we do have some information about this new Michigan betting app.

First, it’s worth noting that ESPN BET Michigan is the rebranding of Barstool Sportsbook Michigan, which has been around for a few years now. Barstool Sportsbook Michigan will be renamed and rebranded, and later this fall, ESPN BET Michigan will launch.

The Barstool Sportsbook Michigan retail sportsbook in Greektown, Detroit, will likely also be rebranded as well, giving sports bettors in Michigan the chance to bet on sports both on mobile and in person.

Here’s how the deal worked out. Basically, PENN agreed to pay ESPN $1.5 billion in cash over the next 10 years, plus grant ESPN $500 million of warrants to buy 31.8 million common shares of PENN.

As well, PENN sold Barstool back to Dave Portnoy for $1, and he won’t be able to create a new sportsbook as part of a non-compete clause. ESPN BET will likely open up in 16 states where Barstool Sportsbook had a presence, including Michigan.

The rebranding will happen in the fall and it will rebrand all Barstool apps and retail locations to the new ESPN brand instead. ESPN was in the market to partner with a sportsbook for a long time, and it even had discussions with industry leaders FanDuel and Draftkings to partner with them.

However, the purchase prices to partner with those apps were apparently too high, and when the opportunity came to partner with Barstool Sportsbook, ESPN couldn’t say no. The end result is the creation of ESPN Bet in 16 different states, which will open up this fall, including in the state of Michigan.

ESPN Bet Michigan Promo Code For New Users

At this point in time, we do not know exactly what the ESPN BET Michigan promo code will be. However, we do have an idea of what a potential new user promo could be for new customers.

For instance, the ESPN BET Michigan promo code may be a first-bet offer up to a certain amount. Barstool Sportsbook offered new customers the chance to bet up to $1,000 on any sport of their choosing and they got back up to the same amount in bonus bets if the bet lost.

There could also be a first-deposit match bonus, meaning that if you make your first deposit at ESPN BET Michigan, you could get back corresponding bonus bets to whatever your first deposit is. On that same token, it’s possible a no-deposit bonus could also be given to new customers.

It’s also possible there could be a unique offer where all you need to do is deposit and bet a small amount of money and get back bet credits win or lose. Either way, whenever we find out for sure what the ESPN BET Michigan new user promo is, we will let Bookies.com readers know.

More ESPN Bet Michigan Promotions

When new users sign up with the ESPN BET Michigan promo code, they'll get mor than just a welcome offer. In addition to the expected ESPN BET Michigan promo for new users, we also expect there to be plenty of ongoing promotions offered. For instance, we expect there will be daily odds boosts.

These odds boosts will likely be offered on a daily basis and they give you better odds than you normally would on a bet, albeit at a lower limit. In addition, we expect there to be ESPN BET Michigan promotions related to both parlays and same-game parlays.

Not only will you be able to make these parlays on all of your favorite sports, but you will also likely be offered greater odds than usual on some specific parlays and same-game parlays that ESPN BET Michigan cooks up. Overall, we expect ESPN BET Michigan to have plenty of promotions for its bettors.

Is ESPN Bet Michigan Legit?

Yes, ESPN Bet Michigan is a legit, legal sportsbook. Legal sports betting in Michigan has existed for several years now, and Barstool Sportsbook Michigan was a sportsbook that was fully licensed and regulated in the state. Barstool Sportsbook Michigan is now being rebranded into ESPN BET Michigan, and the new sportsbook will also be fully regulated and licensed.

Keep in mind that there may be a perceived conflict of interest with reporters on ESPN news networks talking about the betting lines and giving betting advice. But it’s worth noting that ESPN has nothing to do with setting the lines – PENN does that – so there is no actual conflict of interest here. To recap, ESPN Bet Michigan is about as legit of a sportsbook that you’ll find.

Top Features Of ESPN Bet Michigan

While we do not know what the top features of ESPN BET Michigan are at this time, we have an idea of what they may be based on what Barstool Sportsbook Michigan offers, including:

Live Betting

With live betting, you can bet on sports while they are live in play. This gives you the added benefit of actually watching the games play out, meaning you will have more information to make your bets. Live betting is a great and fun way to place wagers on your favorite sports.

Cash Out

With the cash-out option, customers would be able to cash out of their bets before the sports event they bet on is over. If your team is in the lead, you would be able to cash out a small profit. But if your team is losing, you can use the cash-out option to get part of your stake back.

Stats and Trends

ESPN BET Michigan will likely also have stats and trends embedded in their sports betting app. This means that you will be able to see the stats and trends of the sports that you are betting on. Instead of going to an external website, you can just see the stats and trends on the app.

How To Sign Up At ESPN BET Michigan

We expect the sign-up process at ESPN Bet Michigan to be easy and seamless. While the betting app has not launched just yet, when it does, we expect you to be able to sign up for a new ESPN BET Michigan account in a few minutes.

Likely, all you’ll have to do is either download the new ESPN BET Michigan app when it launches, or go to the ESPN BET Michigan website, and then sign up for a new account. Complete the registration process, enter the ESPN BET Michigan promo code, make your first deposit, and you’ll be able to start placing all of your bets at ESPN BET Michigan immediately.

Banking At ESPN Bet Michigan (Standard Types)

After you enter the ESPN BET Michigan promo code as part of the sign-up process, you'll be asked to make a first deposit. We do not know exactly what the deposit and withdrawal options at ESPN BET Michigan will be at this time, however, we do have a good idea of what they will be based on what Barstool Sportsbook Michigan offered.

This includes debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), PayPal, online bank transfer, ACH/e-check, wire transfer, PayNearMe, and Play+ cards. Essentially, we expect there will be plenty of banking options for both deposits and withdrawals at ESPN BET Michigan.

What Happened To Barstool Sportsbook Michigan?

Barstool Sportsbook Michigan is being rebranded into ESPN BET Michigan after the sports entertainment company signed a licensing agreement with PENN to put the ESPN brand on its app.

The rebranding will be taking place over the next few weeks and it should be in place by this fall. At that point in time, Barstool Sportsbook Michigan will cease to exist, and ESPN BET Michigan will be the new name of this sportsbook for customers that reside in Michigan state.

Why Did PENN Replace Barstool Sportsbook With ESPN BET?

PENN replaced Barstool with ESPN because it saw an opportunity to take naming rights from the world’s leading sports entertainment brand. While Barstool is a big name in itself, ESPN is a brand name that is known all around the world.

When PENN decided that it wanted out of its deal with Barstool, it sold it back to its founder Dave Portnoy for just $1. That opened up PENN to start working with ESPN, and it led to the creation of ESPN BET. This sports betting app is expected to open up its digital doors this fall, hopefully by Thanksgiving, in time for NFL betting.
