As well, PENN sold Barstool back to Dave Portnoy for $1, and he won’t be able to create a new sportsbook as part of a non-compete clause. ESPN BET will likely open up in 16 states where Barstool Sportsbook had a presence, including Michigan. 

The rebranding will happen in the fall and it will rebrand all Barstool apps and retail locations to the new ESPN brand instead. ESPN was in the market to partner with a sportsbook for a long time, and it even had discussions with industry leaders FanDuel and Draftkings to partner with them.
