“Monday marked the successful and largely uneventful first day of legal sports wagering in Missouri—an important milestone made possible by the constitutional amendment narrowly approved by voters in the last general election. This smooth launch reflects the tremendous effort and professionalism of our rules-writing staff, who worked tirelessly to meet the constitutional deadline of December 1, 2025. Their dedication ensured that Missouri could implement a fair, secure, and responsible sports wagering framework on time and with confidence," a spokesperson for the Missouri Gaming Commission told bookies.com.
More Than 2.6 Million Missouri Sports Betting Checks
Meanwhile, GeoComply's Missouri Sports Betting data found:
- GeoComply’s Missouri online sportsbook customers recorded more than 2,600,000 geolocation checks statewide in the first 24 hours
- More than 250,000 sports betting accounts were active on December 1st
- Nearly 188,000 pre-registered accounts were created leading up to launch (Nov 17–30)
“Missouri has shown for years that it’s one of the most eager states in the country for legal sports betting,” said Kip Levin, GeoComply CEO, in a release. “What we’ve seen in the first 24 hours is remarkable. Tens of thousands of Missourians immediately joined safe, regulated platforms the moment they became legal. It’s a powerful reminder of how quickly consumers embrace a well-regulated market when the option finally exists.”

Sportsbooks "Pleased" With Missouri Sports Betting Launch
DrafKings Director of Race and Sports Johnny Avello told bookies.com that the St Louis Blues quickly became his book's No. 1 team. But he expects that to change.
“We have been pleased with early results in Missouri," Avello said via email. "The Blues quickly became our most-bet team on day one, driven in part by a promotion for the team to record 1+ shot on goal. As we approach Sunday night, we expect to see strong interest from local fans on the Chiefs, as they face the Texans with major playoff implications on the line.”
Circa Sports and DraftKings were awarded untethered licenses ahead. Circa was considered a longshot to get one of those Missouri Sports Betting licenses.
"Day One exceeded our expectations. Lots of signups and activity for the open which we think is going to carry forward in this market. An exciting development for players and operators,"
Director of Operations and Race and Sportsbook, Jeff Benson told bookies.com in an email.

Snowy Weather Could Not Keep Customers Away
The first mobile bet placed on the Caesars Sportsbook app in The Show Me State was a 5-leg NHL moneyline parlay, which included the St. Louis Blues (-160) to beat the Anaheim Ducks on launch day, along with the Flyers, Devils, Jets and Mammoth to win. If all those teams win, the bettor would turn $5 into $66.86.
Caesars held special ceremonial first bet events at Harrah’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis, featuring former St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green and Chiefs Legend Christian Okoye. Green placed his Ceremonial First Bet - $100 on his Indiana Hoosiers to win the College Football National Championship.
Even snowy weather and travel challenges couldn't keep customers away from the Ameristar Casino locations run by Fanatics. "We were very happy with the launch in Missouri," a Fanatics spokesman told bookies.com via email. That book had Alex Gordon and Patrick Maroon place ceremonial first bets to officially open the locations.
