Vincent Trocheck has become one of the more interesting names ahead of the March 6 NHL trade deadline, with multiple reports indicating the Rangers are listening and Trocheck acknowledging he’s preparing for the possibility of a move. Who Will Vincent Trocheck Play For Next?

Which Teams Could Make a Move? A Look At Trocheck Trade Candidates

The Wild and Avalanche are currently among the three teams on the right side of the postseason bubble in the West’s Central Division, with Colorado atop the table with 89 points while Minnesota’s third, with 80 points in total this season.

In the East, the Red Wings are third in the Atlantic Division with 76 points, while Carolina is atop the Metropolitan Division at 38-16-6, notching the club a crisp 82 points (seven more than the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders).

If Carolina acquires Trocheck, it’d mark the second stint in the Tar Heel State for the 13th year veteran, having spent three seasons with the Hurricanes from 2019-20 through 2021-22, notching 85 goals and 154 assists in Raleigh.

Whichever team acquires Trocheck will likely be one that qualifies for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, potentially allowing the 32-year-old center to add to his already impressive stats in the postseason.

That’s because Trocheck has 37 points across 56 playoff games with the Panthers, Hurricanes and Rangers, with his best postseason campaign coming with New York in 2023-24, when he lit the lamp eight times and dished out 12 assists in 16 games played.

Whether Trocheck will get the chance to add to those career totals this season depends on whether Rangers GM Chris Drury opts to pull the trigger on a trade before 3 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, as the league waits to see what New York’s next move will be in a lost season in the Big Apple.
