López (16-0, 12 KOs) is not only making his first defense of the titles he won in Las Vegas last October when he stunned Ukranian superstar Vasiliy Lomachenko, the 24-year-old Brooklyn brawler will be doing it front of a raucous, hometown crowd. It’s going to be an incredible scene and some great boxing betting, and you’ll want to be a part of it. Imagine if New York sports betting was online?

Even though López is favored in the latest boxing odds, he’ll still have his work cut out for him facing Kambosos Jr. (19-0 10 KOs). The 26-year-old Australian challenger landed this title shot by beating former World ruler Lee Selby in a final eliminator in London, England, last October.

The contest period runs from Nov. 5 through Nov. 21, when the winner will be notified. What could be better than Thanksgiving week in New York City? Early Look at López -Kambosos

López is currently a massive betting favorite with -1000 odds at DraftKings. It’s not surprising because López is a superstar at lightweight with heavy hands and charisma for days. From the spectacular knockouts to in-ring backflips, López is a showman.

He also has serious credentials to back up the larger-than-life ring presence.

López is the consensus No. 1-ranked lightweight in the world and the No. 5 pound-for-pound fighter according to ESPN. He has handled every challenge throughout his young career and now faces the top lightweight contender in a fight that was originally scheduled to take place back in June, with López testing positive for COVID-19 in the build-up.

Now it’s on as Kambosos prepares for his long-awaited title shot as a +650 underdog at BetMGM. The Aussie has serious KO power as well and has to believe he’s being overlooked in this one. Kambosos opened as a +150 underdog against Selby before earning the split-decision win.

López knows exactly how dangerous big dogs can be in these title fights – he was a +315 underdog in the Lomachenko fight and scored the win via unanimous decision.

He puts on a show every time and something special to see in person.

“I am delighted to announce our partnership with Bookies.com for this blockbuster fight,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “López vs. Kambosos Jr. is one of the fights of the year, and the extended build-up has lit a fire under both champion and challenger. ”
