The Houston Texans are quietly building a mini-dynasty in the AFC South, having captured the division title in each of the past two seasons. The have the No. 25 pick in the NFL Draft.

Some would argue the Texans were a few questionable calls away from upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card Round—a game where officiating raised eyebrows, particularly in key moments.

Now, Houston turns its attention to reinforcing both the offensive line and receiving corps after a season in which quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked 52 times. The Texans made significant moves this offseason: trading five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil, parting ways with guard Shaq Mason, and sending Kenyon Green out the door as well. Veteran Cam Robinson was signed to help stabilize the left side of the line.

Reports, including one from Sports Illustrated, cited a “toxic atmosphere” in the offensive line room as part of the rationale behind the overhaul. General manager Nick Caserio and head coach DeMeco Ryans appear determined not to let Stroud endure another season of relentless pressure in and out of the pocket.

Veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson of Bookies.com has compiled projected NFL odds for sports betting on who the Texans may target with their first-round pick – No. 25 overall. Here's a breakdown of the top prospects in play for Houston.

Top 6 Prospect Analysis

Josh Simmons, T, Ohio State (+300)

Josh Simmons was a cornerstone of Ohio State’s offensive front as the Buckeyes stormed through the College Football Playoff en route to a national championship. He’s a physical force who projects as a long-term starter, potentially anchoring the line alongside fellow former Buckeye C.J. Stroud for the next decade.

Tyler Booker, G/C, Alabama (+450)

One of the youngest linemen in the draft, Tyler Booker brings high-level experience with 25 career starts. At 6'5", 321 pounds, he boasts NFL-ready size and a sturdy build. Though he lacks elite athleticism, he profiles as an immediate contributor to the interior offensive line rotation.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State (+500)

Emeka Egbuka is a refined route-runner with elite spatial awareness and a record-setting 205 career receptions at Ohio State. Though not physically imposing at 6'1", 202 lbs, his quick first step and strong football instincts could make him an instant asset in the Texans’ passing game.

Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss (+800)

A Texas A&M transfer, Walter Nolen thrived at Ole Miss and fits the mold of a prototypical SEC interior lineman. At 6'4", he combines size, strength, and quickness off the snap. NFL Next Gen Stats graded him as a potential “Year 1 Starter,” thanks to his pass-rush upside and disruptive presence in the trenches.

Armand Membou, T, Missouri (+1200)

If Houston is committed to revamping its offensive line, Armand Membou could be a smart value pick. A consistent performer at Missouri, he offers plug-and-play potential regardless of how the board falls ahead of Pick 25.

Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia (+1200)

Jalon Walker, who lined up at linebacker in college, was graded at that position during the NFL Combine. He ranked third among linebackers in NFL Next Gen Stats grading, showcasing explosive traits. However, at 6'1" with 32-inch arms, he may not fit the prototype for an edge rusher. It’s also uncertain whether he’ll still be available by the time Houston is on the clock.
