The Pittsburgh Steelers made the NFL playoffs last year but were one-and-done after getting knocked out by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round. After stumbling to the finish line in the regular season and then failing to score consistently in the playoffs, the Steelers are considering making a QB change and moving on from last year’s quarterback tandem of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
With the Steelers likely searching for a new starting QB, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together NFL betting odds for who the next Steelers QB will be.
Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 Starting QB Odds

Top Contending Quarterbacks
🏈 Kirk Cousins (+500)
Cousins lost his job as the starting QB with the Atlanta Falcons after throwing too many interceptions last year in his first season with the team. The Falcons are likely to release Cousins this offseason, making him a free agent once again. Even though Cousins had a down year, he is still a highly respected quarterback in the NFL, and there is a good chance the Steelers would be interested in giving him the starting quarterback job if he does get cut.
🏈 Aaron Rodgers (+550)
Rodgers is one of the greatest QBs in NFL history, but after back-to-back seasons struggling to be consistent with the New York Jets, the team announced they are going to release him. Rodgers will soon be a free agent, and signing with the Steelers makes a ton of sense for both parties as the Steelers need a starting QB, and Rodgers wants to prove he can still start in the league.
🏈 Justin Fields (+550)
Fields was acquired in a trade from the Chicago Bears last year and ended up losing his starting job to Russell Wilson early in the season. Still, he is only 25 and already knows the Steelers’ system, so perhaps the team could bring him back for another season and try handing him the keys to the starting QB gig one more time.
🏈 Sam Darnold (+600)
Darnold is coming off an amazing regular season as the Minnesota Vikings starting QB, and although he struggled in the playoffs, he seems likely to land a massive contract in free agency. The Steelers should call him and see what his asking price is, although it feels more likely that a team with more cap room, like the Las Vegas Raiders, will get him instead.
🏈 Jalen Milroe (+800)
Milroe, the former Alabama Crimson Tide QB, is one of the top quarterback prospects in the NFL, and if the Steelers have an opportunity to select him, he could be the team’s next starter.

Possible Prospects
🏈 Jacoby Brissett (+800)
Brissett remains a viable stop-gap starting QB in the NFL. He seems likely to leave the New England Patriots, so perhaps the Steelers would consider signing him to a short-term deal.
🏈 Matthew Stafford (+1000)
Stafford is 37 but remains one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Still, if the LA Rams decide to make a change and trade him, the Steelers should be the first team on the phone trying to work out a deal.
🏈 Jaxson Dart (+1200)
If the Steelers choose to draft a quarterback, former Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart could potentially be an option for the team if he falls to them in the draft.
🏈 Russell Wilson (+1400)
Wilson’s numbers were solid for the Steelers last year, but it does feel like the fans and organization are ready to move on, making Wilson a long shot to keep his starting job.
🏈 The Field (+750)
Considering the Steelers need a starting QB badly, no one can be written off as a potential acquisition, keeping The Field as a viable option. There will be other free agents available, prospects to draft, and potentially other starting quarterbacks to trade for.
