Two teams with high expectations but on the outside of the playoff bubble meet in a critical Sunday Night Football matchup when Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams play host to Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears.

The Rams (5-4) have covered the spread in eight of their last 10 games against NFC competition, but the Bears (4-5) are on a 4-1 ATS run in L.A.

PICK 1: Rams -6.5

For all of their perceived struggles, the Rams have mostly taken care of business against teams it should be beating, going 4-1 against teams not currently in a playoff spot with an average margin of victory of 12.8 ppg.

The Bears got a huge win Sunday against the Matthew Stafford-less Lions, but it wasn’t easy, and the offense still struggled against one of the league’s more-porous defenses. The loss of leading tackler Danny Trevathan will hurt Chicago big here.

PICK 2: Under 40.5 Points

5 Bears-Rams Prop Bets And Betting Lines To Back On SNF 1
Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has thrown just eight touchdown passes in eight games this season after throwing 24 in 14 games last season.

The Under has hit with ease in the Bears’ last three games, is 6-3 in Chicago games overall and the totals have been low for all its games. The Under has hit in four-straight Rams games as well, and in four of their last five home games.

With Trubisky on one side and the struggling Goff and Todd Gurley on the other against a reliable Bears defense, scoring will again be at a premium.

PICK 3: First Quarter (3-Way) – Rams ML

The Rams have managed a mediocre 13 points in the first quarter over the last three weeks. But that’s 13 more than the Bears have scored in the first quarter. Each team has been solid defensively to start games, but if one team is going to move the ball at all, at least enough for an early three points, it’s likely to be Los Angeles.

PICK 4: Most Punts - Bears

Only the Jets punt more times per game than the Bears. Chicago averages 5.8 but the last two weeks has kicked it away a whopping 17 times. Only once all season have the Rams punted more than five times in a game.

The defense of the Rams, with Clay Matthews playing a pivotal role, should be able to force the Bears into punting a lot Sunday night.

PICK 5: Rams ML & Under

Unless the Rams’ defense has multiple breakdowns throughout the game, the team should score enough points to win on Sunday night. Points should be at a premium for both sides, but especially for Chicago, which has managed more than 21 points just twice and only 16.7 ppg the last three weeks.
