The Los Angeles Chargers look to rebound from being upset by the Denver Broncos at home when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers for Sunday Night Football in NFL Week 6.

The Chargers have covered the spread only once in their last six games, but the Steelers come into L.A. led by undrafted rookie Devlin Hodges at QB. And they don’t have a good track record on the West Coast under head coach Mike Tomlin.

Let’s take a look at some of the best bets fans of NFL betting should consider:

PICK 1: First Quarter – Chargers -0.5

The Steelers are averaging a scant 2.6 ppg in the opening quarters of games, and it’s unlikely this is the game the offense breaks out fast with the third-stringer Hodges under center.

With a third-string quarterback starting, the Steelers could look to lean on running back James Conner.

The first quarter has been the most productive of the four for L.A., and it will want to start stronger after such a horrid start last week against the Broncos (down 17-0).

PICK 2: First Team to 25 Points – Chargers

The Chargers have scored 30 points in each of their two wins and 20 points or less in their three losses. The Steelers have allowed 24-33 points in each of their four losses.

If the Chargers don’t get to 25 it’s considered a loss, and it’s going to be a shame if L.A. gets stuck on 24, but the odds are right to back Philip Rivers and the offense.

PICK 3: Highest-scoring Half – Second half -103

Both the Steelers and Chargers allow more second-half points than they do first-half points, and the Pittsburgh offense is definitely stronger in the second half. Both teams should still be playing to get into the end zone in the second half.

PICK 4: Double Result – LAC/LAC

The Steelers, who have been slow out of the gates this season, are more likely than not to come out slow once again.

Austin Ekeler has proven to be a perfect complement at running back for the Chargers.

The Chargers are motivated to not get behind big as they did against the Broncos. L.A. should build a lead and with Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler running the ball and catching passes out of the backfield, the Chargers can milk the clock and score points while doing so.

PICK 5: Chargers -6

The Steelers have not been successful in West Coast trips under Tomlin, covering just twice in seven trips. They forced the 49ers into five turnovers in a Week 2 matchup in the Bay area – and still got beat straight-up. They’re averaging 11.5 ppg on the road this season.

The Chargers have the weapons to score a lot of points and will be motivated to do so, and in a hurry, after getting embarrassed by the Broncos last Sunday. Pittsburgh may struggle to keep up with Hodges calling the shots at quarterback.
