Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs begin their quest for a Super Bowl berth on Sunday when they host Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans in an AFC Divisional Round showdown.

The Chiefs are the No. 2 seed in the conference, while the Texans rallied from a 16-0 deficit to upend the Bills in overtime in the Wild-Card Round.

Let’s take a look at some of the best bets fans of NFL betting should consider:

PICK 1: Texans +10

Tyrann Mathieu and an improved Chiefs defense will try to keep Texans All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in check.

The Chiefs’ defense improved dramatically the second half of the season but the offense took a bit of a step back. Houston is 5-2 ATS as a road underdog, including a victory at KC in Week 6 after trailing by two TDs after the first quarter. I found Houston at +10 on Tuesday morning and jumped on it — it’s just a lot of points to be giving a team that can score in a hurry.

But the Chiefs are one of the top contenders in AFC Conference title odds for a reason.

PICK 2: Under 50.5 Points

Both these teams can light up the scoreboard, but scoring has been down for both teams as the season has trudged on, and defenses often come alive in the playoffs. The last five Chiefs games have averaged just 39 ppg. Excluding a meaningless Week 17 game for the Texans, their previous six games have managed 46.3.

PICK 3: First Score — Chiefs TD

Touchdowns are the opening norm for both team’s games, with scoring of the six-point variety hitting the board first in six of eight games for each. When it comes to scoring first, the Chiefs have hit the scoreboard first in six of their last eight games, while the Texans are an even 4-4.

PICK 4: Score TD — Carlos Hyde

Hyde crushed the Chiefs in their earlier meeting with 26 carries for 116 yards and a TD. We can expect a healthy dose of the veteran against KC’s 26th-ranked run defense as Houston looks to keep Mahomes off the field.

Can Texans running back Carlos Hyde have another big game against the Chiefs?

PICK 5: Damien Williams — Over 52.5 Yards

Williams has been the unquestioned lead back since returning from an injury in Week 16, gaining 189 yards on 28 carries the last two weeks. Houston’s 25th-ranked run defense could have issues and he should get fed early on and if KC has a lead in the second half.
