The Cardinals got off to a great start during the 2021 season, but faded down the stretch. Was that due to injuries or something else? That’s what the entire organization is trying to figure out this offseason to ensure it never happens again. The Arizona Cardinals are available around +2500 to win Super Bowl 57 on NFL futures markets.

So what do the Cardinals need to do this offseason to take the next step as a franchise? How can they become a legitimate contender in the NFC? It starts with the draft and building up their trenches.

For Arizona sports betting fans looking ahead to April's draft, who is the current favorite to be the Cardinals' selection at No. 23 overall? Take a look at who the Cardinals are most likely to pick at No. 23 via Adam Thompson, our NFL oddsmaker at Bookies.com:

Who Will The Cardinals Take In The NFL Draft?

The Cardinals' biggest issue at the end of the year was on their offensive line. In the playoff game against the Rams, their interior offensive line just couldn't hold up against Aaron Donald. While that's always tough to do, they've got to rebuild the middle of their offensive line.

One player that would make a ton of sense for the Cardinals is Zion Johnson (Boston College). This is the range in which he is expected to come off the board and it's not hard to see why. He's got great size, athleticism, and the versatility to play every offensive line spot.

There is also a chance that the Cardinals could take the top center in the class in Tyler Linderbaum (Iowa). While he has less-than-ideal size, Linderbaum is one of the best center prospects to enter the NFL in the last decade. He fits any zone-blocking scheme that asks him to make blocks in space and he can help Kyler Murray with protection calls. He can also play guard.

But with the Cardinals already having Rodney Hudson under contract, it might not make sense to add another undersized center to the roster. However, Linderbaum is one of the best players in this draft and would be a steal at No. 23. Depending on who falls to them, Arizona might try to grab a talented edge rusher like George Karlaftis, as the position is always in demand and a couple of Round 1 prospects may be available at No. 23 if the draft falls right.

Keep an eye on the cornerback spot, as well, for the Cardinals. Arizona feels good about Byron Murphy, but they could use more help on the outside. Cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Kyler Gordon could be options at No. 23 as the Cardinals have a ton of experience with Washington defensive backs (Budda Baker, Byron Murphy).
